I am in a house the first floor is laid out exactly as my childhood home was.  There are zombies in the house and I go into the back bedroom (this used to be my room) intending to move furniture across the doorway to prevent the zombies getting in.  However this isn’t possible as the door opens outwards (it wasn’t like this in reality).  I go into the front bedroom and a blonde girl aged about 16 is in bed and I ask if I can sleep in there as there is a camp bed ( no camp bed in reality).

Dream changes and I am watching the dream not taking part:  A man in a pleated, white skirt is sat on a chair.  I am looking at him from side on.  The zombies are still in the dream.  The man stands up then sits again and stays very still.  His skin looks very waxy.  One of the zombies sniff him, I think they are trying to tell if he is alive or not.  They decide he isn’t alive and leave him.

I’m moving around a housing estate looking for somewhere safe and then I’m looking out of a window and see an animal that appears have th facial appearance of a rat, long twitchy nose, etc and the body of a squirrel.  It behaves like a squirrel.  I offer it some scraps of food and try to coax it inside.  Gradually I earn its’ trust and it lets me stroke its’ tummy. I say I want to keep it but the animal can speak and says it wouldn’t be happy.

A house usually always represents you, or rather 'the self'...your body and the attributes of your personality:
First floor(if this is how you describe the ground floor) symbolizes practical everyday life, sexuality, and the hips and legs.
First floor(if this is how you describe the floor above the ground floor) symbolizes internal needs, rest, sleep, and the main trunk of the body.
Bedroom symbolizes privacy, sex, intimacy, rest, feelings of wanting to retreat.

That it was laid-out like your childhood home - suggests you're feeling the need to return to a more simple time...when there was less responsibility, and easier, more carefree days. A need to feel safe and protected.

Zombies - To dream that you are a zombie, suggests that you are physically and/or emotionally detached from people and situations that are currently surrounding you. You are out of touch.
That others are the zombies suggests that you feel they are out of touch with what you want, or what you are currently going through, or feeling.

Hiding - In daily life we hide from things that we don't want to deal with or we hide from danger. If you are hiding out of danger, then you should consider those things in your life that propose a 'threat' to you. They could be internal forces or environmental conditions. Generally, we attempt to hide our own negativity and mistakes. This dream may call for an honest reflection on personal characteristics and an evaluation of how much fear influences our lives and decision-making.
That you were unsuccessful in blocking the doorway represents the fact that you will have to face the 'someone' or 'situation' eventually.

Young girl(unknown) - represents a young, immature, feminine aspect of yourself. An emotional and idealistic part. Being blonde represents emotional awareness.

Bed - where we sleep, rest, restore our minds and bodies and engage in sexual pleasure. The bed is symbolic of all of these things. The bed could also symbolize the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious (i.e.our daily lives and the great unknown, our spirit and our psychological undercurrent). The quality and the cleanliness of the bed in our dreams, may say something about the way we feel about ourselves and our relationships. In reality we "make our own bed," so the dream may reflect that bed and remind us that we have to either change it or lie in it.
Because it was a cot (camp bed) would suggest an uncomfortable rest, and fitful sleeping ...therefore you may be feeling that you need more rest...or better rest.

Unknown man in a white pleated skirt - again....the unknown man is an unknown side of the self. The skirt is representative of your sexuality...or how you view your sexuality...ie: (pleated is organized, orderly, and well thought out. A short skirt would be daring and adventurous, a longer skirt would suggest virginity, modesty, shyness, or frigidity.)
White is feminine, symbolizing virginity, but also emotional coldness and immaturity. Also, purity, well earned success, honesty, virtue, innocence, peace, happiness, joy, transformation, cleanliness, dignity, awareness, clarity of mind, and light feelings.
White clothing represents a 'wholeness': purity or marriage(Not necessarily the marriage of two people...but rather the 'marriage' of body and spirt, or thought and action, etc.). Also might possibly be a reminder to resolve special situations and problems.

Sits, stands, and sits again - symbolizes indecisiveness, or the inability to make a decision.

Remaining very still - symbolizes the need to go un-noticed, or being 'uncomfortable' with yourself in public view, or in the spotlight.
Alternatively, could suggest the subconscious is telling you to 'stay still'....think before you act, or to take some time out.

Skin - represents protection or shield of your inner self. It serves as a physical boundary and how close you let others get to you. Your contact with the world, what tatics you use to deal with others, strength or vulnerability in feeling the impact of other people: their remarks and actions.
Waxy or sallow skin would suggest you feel 'fragile', vulnerable, or thin-skinned....a fear of harsh words, or actions.

The zombies leave him alone - suggests the you feel as though you are being ignored, or 'not seen' as having valuable ideas, or effectual imput.
__________________________________________

Looking for a safe place - the same as hiding...trying to avoid something or someone in your waking life. A need to feel safe, or reassured.

Window - Windows represent your points of view, perspectives and glimpses of insight. Windows in our houses allow us to see the world on the out side, the windows in our dreams may encourage us to better see the world within ourselves, as well as the world outside.
Looking out the window suggests you are aware of the world around you.

Squirrel - symbolize action, thriftiness. Squirrels are doers, they plan ahead. (What is it that you 'have stored away', that needs recognizing about yourself?)
Alternately...To see squirrels running around, signifies that you are involved in a loveless or pointless relationship or an unprofitable business project. Squirrels also refer to the act of hoarding. It could either mean that you need to reserve something or it could indicate that you are retaining too much and need to learn to let go.

Feeding a squirrel, denotes comfort through hard work, diligence and prudence.

Petting the squirrel - suggests feelings of responsibility or caring; feelings of affection.
Taming a wild animal - suggests you are learning to relate to urges and energies in yourself that were previously unavailable to your will or needs.

Animal speaking - represents important intuitive information; an understanding of the gathered wisdom of your subconscious. (relating the message to how you, yourself, are feeling)... His message:  to be 'kept' would make you unhappy, or a feeling of being 'caged up', or trapped.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A sort of an anxiety dream when viewed all together.
Are you feeling trapped, or 'threatened'...job, relationship, or in some other personal situation?(That you can't do your job, or that you are 'less than a man'...etc)
Has the topic of marriage, or more serious long-term relationship come up, yand you're feeling uncomfortable about it?
Have you been feeling uncomfortable with your sex-life, or are feeling bored with it? (too structured and may be wanting more excitement...etc.)
Do you feel ignored, or unappreciated?
Have you expressed your feelings recently, but you feel no-one cares how you feel?
Have you been feeling rather emotional lately?
Has someone 'accused' you of being immature, or childish recently?
Are you feeling the need to 'get away' for a rest or vacation?
Have you been 'put on the spot', or put in a situation where you must make a decision, and you're confused, or undecided as to what to do?
Do you feel as though you need to 'get it together', or are feeling rather 'scatter-brained' lately?
Hope this gives you some ideas, or something to go on...good luck!
