Shocked so i was walking down a street, inner city at night.  there was alot of greys and blacks with stone buildings.  some were shops with houses above them with entry to the side.  I was walking only a short time when a older women, maybe African American or Indian American who was smoking a cigarette.  as i approached her she started chanting something along the lines of "blood is thicker than water"  she continued saying it until i couldn't hear her anymore.  Then i arrived at my destination and i opened a dark grey door to one of the apartments beside a store, and my father was there to greet me.  I was happy to see him and i told him this, then he took a extra long screwdriver and stabbed it into my sternum.  i looked at him and asked why he was doing this.  he only replied by pushing it deeper into my body.  his face was angry and unsympathetic. i awoke right after this trying to catch my breath!!
please help me with the meaning everyone!! Huh

night - a major setback or obstacle in achieving your goals
buildings - represents yourself
houses - represents your soul, mind
old woman - indicates aging and growing old
father - symbolizes authority and protection

Is the truth you know really the truth, or is it just what others want you to believe in

City - usually symbolizes your relationship, or interaction with society. The many choices you can make about direction, relationships, activities, etc. Also represents your 'sense of community', and the mental, and emotional environment, in which you live.
Inner city - same as city, but instead of relating to the community, and society as a whole....inner city would relate more to your personal circle of friends and family.

Night - In relation to you walking through the city, pertains to feelings of aloneness, or secret feelings.

greys and black:
grey suggests you feel you have an unhappy, or 'dull' existence. A feeling of 'blah'.
black symbolizes the subconscoius, and the unknown. Also, things that you feel are hidden, or avoided...an unaccepted side of 'self'. Also represents negativity, secrecy, fear.

older woman - The elderly represent wisdom and experience. Women suggest comfort and nurturing.
It could represent a familiar older woman in your life, or a 'wiser' part of your own 'inner self'.

cigarette - suggests anxiety, or the release from it. Also feelings of dependence and stress.

chanting: Blood is thicker than water - this idiom is direct. It's a reminder that family is important....and and the bonds are strong. That no matter what you do, your family will alway love you. Also suggests loyalty to one's own family above friends.
Example: "Friends will come, and friends will go, but your family is always there for you; blood is thicker than water".

destination - symbolizes a goal, or ambition. Something that you would like to achieve for yourself.

Father: usually an authority figure in your life....father, boss, teacher...etc.
Positive symbols - authority, and ability in the external world, strength, provider, and protector.
Negative - aggression, dominance.

stabbed you in the sternum - an area close th the heart. Suggests a wounding of the heart, or 'heartbreak'.

screwdriver - suggests you, or someone you know, feels the need to hold some situation or relationship together.
Might also suggest you feel that your life,  or a situation, or someone in your life, is 'screwed up'.

he was angry - Could represent an anger issue you have with someone. Could also represent your knowing of a 'wrong-doing' you've done....or feelings of guilt.

Have you been feeling down in the dumps lately?...Like your life is going nowhere?
Have you had a disagreement within your family, or close circle of friends?
Not knowing your age:
Did your father 'punish' you for something, and you feel as though it's unfair?
Did your boss, or teacher, reprimand you for something?
Did a male friend say something that 'hurt your heart'?
Are you wanting something and were told you couldn't have/do it?...or that your 'goal' or idea was stupid?
Do you feel you have been unjustly punished for something?
Are/were you taking part in an activity that you know is socially unacceptable?
Are you going to, or did you, give in to 'peer pressure' and do something that you know is wrong?
Do you feel as though you are being 'forced' to choose between family and friends, or a relationship?
Did you do something, for which you feel your family will never forgive you?

Like I said, without knowing your age range...these are just generalizations. Apparently, you feel upset about a situation in which your family is, or may, get involved.

Hope this helps.

Life is not a destination....it's a journey. Enjoy the ride.
