My friend and I recently discovered that we have been dreaming about each other at the same time. It began about two months ago and for a week straight I was dreaming about him every night. I didn't necessarily think anything of it, though. I thought it was weird and maybe I should contact him. So, I did and everything was fine. Last week, we saw each other for the first time in a few months and we told me he was having dreams about me. We realized that we were having almost the same dreams at the same time. Earlier today, we were talking and I told him I dreamed of him last night and the night before. He was in shock, because he had been dreaming of me, as well, again. As far as I am aware and remember, they aren't sexual. They are mostly us hanging out. A few have been about one of us crying to the other, us cuddling, holding hands, and one or two of us running together.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but about 3 years ago, he and I dated for about a month. We haven't dated since, but have remained good friends.

Do dreams like this occur often? What are they called? What do they mean?
