Oh my...where to start...

Depending on where you live, what your religious belief structure is, and whether or not you're male or female....there are MANY things that snakes represent and symbolize.

The snake is one of the world’s oldest symbols, and is found in some of the most ancient sculptures. They are often used as phallic symbols, and have long been linked with pagan fertility gods. Because it lives close to the ground, the snake is an emblem of the nurturing earth and also the unknown perils of the underworld. It is considered evil, yet it is the snake, created by God, that tempts man to gain knowledge. In dreams, a snake can represent hidden fears. But snakes are also seen in the 'cadecus'....the medicine symbol. A symbol of healing and knowledge.

Dreams of snakes are quite common, and are disturbing. They leave the dreamer feeling anxious and afraid.

Western society and Christian imagery emphasize the dark side of this symbol. They are often considered symbols of temptation and evil, anger, and envy.
In Eastern cultures and religions, snakes are a positive symbol of transformation, knowledge and wisdom. It represents self-renewal and positive changes.

Sometimes snakes may be phallic symbols and other times they represent the negativity in our lives.
Snakes often represent troublesome situations that are intimidating and disturbing. These situations are very complex, and it is difficult to deal with them, you might get hurt. Sometimes, a snake stands for your enemies who are threatening you.  Some snake dreams have sexual implications. A single snake in the bedroom in a woman's dream may represent a man in her life or masculine energy that is creating power issues in the relationship.
The snake may also refer to a person around you who you feel is callous, ruthless, and can't be trusted. To kill them, you will feel that you have used every opportunity of advancing your own interests, or respecting that of others. You feel will you will succeed in spite of any hostile opposition.

Also, what color was the snake?...could you 'identify' it?...was it a poisonous snake?

Eating -  The act of eating can be very telling in a dream, or it can simply stand for basic survival.
Eating usually symbolizes comfort, pleasure, and love. We use and misuse food on a daily bases. We nourish our bodies and stuff our feelings with food. Eating is a part of life and for some of us it is a problem.
If you are on a perpetual diet and are depriving yourself of food, then this dream may be compensatory in nature. If you are feeling lonely or lack warmth, you may have dreams of eating. Eating in a dream suggests a need for physical, psychological or spiritual nourishment.

The fact that you are eating a snake, again, depends on your social and personal beliefs. If you view a snake as an evil or vile thing, it could mean that you are wanting to take back something you said. Or that you may have to 'eat your own words'.
If you like snakes, and view them as mystical creatures, it could suggest that you would like to 'gain the powers' of the snake.

This dream could be suggesting that you try new experiences.
Or that maybe you've been presented with a new opportunity....go ahead and try. It might not be as difficult as you think.

I hope this make somes sense to you, or that it'll apply to something that you're feeling or experiencing.

wow thats a lot of meaning haha. ok well, i live in the uk and have no religious beliefs. Im female and im not scared of snakes. The snake in the dream was a kind of creamy white snake and i dont know if it makes a difference but it was chopped up so it wasn't moving or anything.

i tried something new recently and moved away from all my friends. Maybe the dream relates to this. I dont want to go back because i like where i am but i miss my old friends. I just dont feel like i fit in anywhere at the moment. So i suppose it could either mean im happy with the change or that im afraid of losing my old friends or both!? i dont know! How confussing!

If the snake, which usually represents fear, rather than you having to be afraid necessarily of snakes, was cut up, perhaps this means you are conquering the fear.

This dream, along with the description of your current circumstances, sounds very empowering. I think your subconscous is telling you to eat the snake, overcome your fears of being somewhere new.

You didn't want to eat the snake because it was different (moving away is scary), but then you tried it and realised it wasn't that bad (you'll be ok in the long run).

I think it means that everything will come good in the end, so stick with it. And at the end of the day, if it makes you feel better, and your friends are real friends, you won't lose them anyway.

Hope this helps.

December is spot on.
Your friends will always be friends, but there's nothing saying you can't have new ones as well.
Like the old saying goes...
"Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver, and the other's gold."

I don't know what snake dreams mean! All I do know is that it bothers me and I can't get it outta my head. I 'm five months pregnant and the other day I dreamed that some of my friends had caughts some snakes to bring to my house to cook and eat'em. They boiled them and when they were done they kept trying to get me to try them. I kept saying no that's is sooooOO gross. It was the strangest dream I ever had.

My bigmomma <---that's what we call her, well she passed in '96 so I am always constantly dreaming about her as if she was still here and we just living day to day life. Next thing you know it will switch from that dream to a snake and then I'll wake up. I have no clue what it means, but I am soooooO curious. I was told it means I have an enemy. Well I don't believe that because I just moved to CALi and I'm from the SOUTH (and can't wait to move back) I don't know anyone out here on the west coast like that to have an enemy. Maybe because I hate being out here so much cause life is so very different and unpeaceful to me now I don't know. But I wish somebody would let me know what these dreams could possibly mean!!?!?
