This one also falls into a "new dream" category, for me, in that the...taste of it was somehow different. I had this one while I was napping this afternoon.

STATS: Female, early twenties, single.

I dreamed I was at what looked like my old elementary school, except it was night out and very dark, and the elementary school had a bunch of additions to it so that it looked more like a giant mansion. I was standing outside waiting for my friend and her boyfriend (who I was expecting a call from in real life, so I'm guessing that's what that is about). There are people in this dream but I'm not sure who they are or what they want, except that there are things that need to get done that they're not doing.

Anyway, at one point I'm inside this room (windowless, I think) made of thick gray stone, with dark wood floors. There is very little light in here too. There is a tall, very old, very weak man. He's dying, and it's like he has no bones in his body because he keeps flopping over and I keep trying to bounce him up and keep him upright. But he has given up, and he collapses on the floor. I hold him, and he communicates to me that he is leaving things to me because he doesn't trust the other people. This feels like a really, really intimate moment, and I feel have a distinct bond with this old man. He slowly dies, and suddenly a ball of light sortof hicccups out of him and onto the floor. We both reach for it and he dies with his arm outright towards it, and I slowly take the ball of light and it enters me, and I know that now I'm in charge of keeping and protecting that man's soul.

There's more, I sit at a computer at the other end of the room sorting through his CD's and DVD's, and there's a lot of them (500ish?) and a lot of them are not in boxes. some of my cousins (one male and one female) are there, and i get the impression that the others were around but i don't see them. they look at me work and they ask me what i'm doing and i try to explain. suddenly the male one gets this greedy look in his eyes as he starts talking about the stuff the old guy left behind and i try to talk him down from something.

then i wake up.

help appreciated!

If a little dreaming is dangerous, the cure for it is not to dream less but to dream more, to dream all the time.

Yes this is different.  It feels like you are growing and expanding your mind lately. You are entering a new stage of developement in your life. These others in your dream may just be observers that are supposed to be helping you out, like dream companions, and they want you to figure out what to do next, so they aren't doing what they usually do, and that is participate in the dream story.
The ball of light that comes from him is a gift for you from a higher place. You are to protect it and keep it's light going. The man was just the message carrier. Not important really, probably a guide. The whole dream sounds like it centres around you taking the ball, and not the other stuff. He is so floppy and empty because he is emptying himself to you. I don't know what that means, sorry.
Taking another persons soul into you is like you are taking responsibility for someone else's problems, and you are taking a great deal of burden of someone else's shoulders onto your own in doing so.
But out of all this you receive a gift in return. It is like intuition/healing or something along those lines(spiritual?).
Whatever the gift is you are to protect it and not give it away. The last part is a warning that as your gift starts to emerge and becomes obvious in everyday life, other's are going to get greedy and disrupt your life. It's perhaps best kept to yourself until you aren't around negative infuences who would seek to use you for their own profit. Does that make any sense?
