I have had odd dreams before, but I have never before had anything this wierd.  I had no clue what it meant so I had to join here to post it.  By the way, I am male, 20yr, and single - no relationship currently.

The dream is a little bit fuzzy now but I can still remember it pretty well.  The beginning of the dream sees me going about usual activities when I start noticing that I am not feeling quite right.  I am getting a little bit more clumsier and slower to react.  So I go to the hospital.  This is at night time.  While I am at the hospital, they run tests and conclude that I have a non contagious form of meningitis - is there really such a thing???  Since it was non contagious, they said that I could go while they looked for a blood doner, because I needed all of my blood replaced, but the outlook didn't look good for me and they predicted I would have irreperable loss of brain power within 72 hours and would then die.  So when I left, I left in a daze and went to the local Sonic.  For those of you who may not know what a Sonic is because of your local, it is one of those drive in diners where you pull up, place your order, and they bring it out to you.

When I got to the Sonic which is about 5 minutes from the hospital, I get out and start asking people if I could have some of their blood because I had been diagnosed with this disease.  Many said no, but a few said yes.  For some reason, I kept on saying that I needed 12 liters of blood to live, and I was taking 2 liters of blood from the people that said yes.  I am not European but I am majoring in Physics, so maybe that is where my mind decided to use liters.  The odd thing is that the liters looked more like American cups.  It looked like I was taking two cups of blood from everyone.  When I started to take the blood from the first person, I looked around for a cup to put the blood in, which I extracted myself using a syringe and what looked like fish tank tubing, and from what I remember, the cup just appeared in my hand a second later.  This could be that I just forgot where I got it from because this looked like one of the sonic 20 oz cups to me.   The people that said yes didn't seemed to be phased by me taking blood from them.  Also, from what I remember, I recognized a few of the people that I took blood from, possibly all of them.  When I filled up 1.5 of the 20 oz cups, I said that that was it and that I could go back to the hospital now and get a transfusion.

Then, someone whom I can't remember told me that I would need to make sure that all of the blood was of the same type or I wouldn't be able to take it.  I knew that it wasn't so I literally poured the blood out in the driveway of the Sonic, and went around asking again, except this time, no one said yes.

Somehow, I ended up driving two hours away to the town where I graduated high school from and going to the high school to talk to the main office clerk to see if I could talk to my old vice principal.  The wierd thing is, that while I was still at Sonic, it was earlier in the evening, but then after driving 2 hours to my old town, it was 3 in the afternoon and school was getting out.  When I was trying to talk to the clerk, I ended up busting into tears and balling in the office trying to explain my condition.  She was extremely sympathetic, and called and emailed the VP to see if he was still in the building, which he wasn't.  So I left.  I then went to find the friend that I graduated with to see if he would help and give me some of his blood.  I went to his house and slammed on the door for several minutes until finally he opened up.  He apologized for taking so long and asked what was wrong.  I explained to him what was wrong and he got dressed from his sleeping atire, and he and I went back to the school.  The odd thing is that now it is 3 the next day!

He and I both ask for the VP and try to see him but he is not there.  So while I am in the office, I actually ask out loud, "Would anyone please give me their blood so I can live?!?!"  No one seems to care that a creep just asked this question, and no one responds.  So we leave.  We go to the local Krogers where I use to work, which was nothing like it is in real life, and I go there to ask people - not customers but employees.  I ask and no one says yes.  Here is another odd thing.  In the first town, that I was in, there is a Krogers as well and that is where I work now.  One of the employees from there left about 2 weeks ago to go to tennessee.  In my dream however, he was a security guard in my old store.  When I explained the situation, he seemed to not know wether or not he wanted to give blood, but while he was contemplating, I pricked him with the needle and stole his blood anyways.  When I was done, I apologized, but asked him what type of blood he has, that it is too late to do anything about it now.  He tells me and I leave.

This part is real fuzzy but over the next couple of hours, I go BACK to the high school later at night to see if there were any of my old teachers I could talk to.  Odd thing, everyone is in class at this time!  I go in and sign in and go to talk to my old teachers.  While in the building, I am asking people in the halls for their blood.  I go into the class rooms of my old teachers and several of them say yes, as well as some of the students who I never knew because they were still in middle school when I graduated.  They were just strangers.  I finally have gone to enough classrooms and people that I have enough blood, which I am rolliing around everywhere in ziplock bags in a Krogers shopping cart - unrefrigerated.  My friend and I leave the school and head to my truck where we put the blood bags in the back.  Before I am able to get in however, I get overcome with disorientation and start blacking out.

The next time I come to, I am in the hospital in my old town with a surgery staff over me rushing me down the hall.  One of them is coming at me with what looked like a dremel saying "We have to take it off before it spreads any further!"  I of course start screaming like crazy.  I can hear my friend yelling and running after them that they don't have to take anything off, that I will be OK if they take the blood, that another hospital know what is wrong, they just have to contact it.  I think they start listening to him, and the next thing I know, I black out AGAIN while on the table in immense pain, and then wake up again in the dream feeling better, which then I wake up in real life seconds later.

I know this was long and for that I am extremely sorry.  I just wanted to provide you with all of the information neccessary to come up with good possible interpretations of this dream.

Thank you!

P.S.  I do eat at Sonic, so maybe that is where that came from.

The Hospital symbolizes a need for for care, healing, and recovery. It could be physical, psychological, emotional or spiritual healing that is needed.

Blood is life's energy source. Love, passion, anger, and life itself. A vital part of our physiology and it may symbolize our strengths and weaknesses and our physical, emotional, and/or spiritual energy health. If you are currently experiencing a very difficult time, or facing a difficult decision, in your life, you may have dreams with bloody or frightening images.
Needing blood may indicate that you have a thirst, or need, for renewed vitality and power.

Asking people for blood suggests that you may be feeling the need for help or support from others in a situation.

Pain - signifies that you are being too hard on yourself with regards to a situation that was out of your control. It may also be a true reflection of real pain that exists somewhere in your body. Dreams can reveal and warn about health problems.
Pain in dreams is an interesting phenomenon. Sometimes, a peculiar sleeping position becomes the trigger event for a painful dream. It's the body's way of saying, "Hey... roll over!"
The ability of the brain to produce physical stimuli that match the dream event is an amazing thing. It makes dreams that are emotionally realistic even more real.

Screaming symbolizes anger and fear. It is an expression of your powerful emotions which you have kept pent up inside.

Crying - In our dreams we experience a variety of emotions. Crying in the dream state generally has the same meaning as crying in daily life. It is a release of negative emotion, frustration, or fear. Due to repression or denial, sometimes people are unable to express their feelings. In the dream state some of our defense mechanisms may relax and an emotional release occurs. Some emotional dreams may be compensatory in nature. Thus, if you never cry in daily life, you may cry in your dreams.

Being at your old school and the town where you used to live suggests you feel the need to return to a more simple time when there were less responsibilities and less stress.

Being at a Sonic - because it's part of your actual life, your subconscious put you in that setting. But being at a restaurant, cafe, or diner represents sociability, the search for emotional or sexual satisfaction, or a hunger for company. Alternately, a fear of being alone.

Is there something causing a lot of stress currently in your waking life?
Do you feel the need for help from family or friends?
Are you feeling the need for some rest and relaxation?
Are you having financial difficulties, outside 'the norm'?

I hope I could help. Good Luck!

Thank you for your time and consideration with your reply.  As I said, this is a brand new level of wierd for my dreams.  I am kind of hitting my self to because it should have been obvious to my dream self that it was fake.  I am trying to train myself into lucid dreaming, and something like that should have been a clear trigger!  Like I said, thank you for your time and response!!!

Don't be so hard on yourself. You were able to put the Sonic in there. That's a step in the right direction!
