re-occuring rape dream

I am a 28 year old single male who lives with my girlfriend. For a long time I have had reoccuring dreams of a rape that happened to me while locked up in the county jail. In the dream, I am in my cell. The guy in my cell makes it a point to become my friend, then turns violent and rapes me anally. This dream has gone on for years, and am wondering if there is an interpretation behind it other than the obvious fact that I was sexually abused.

Yes, It would stem from the abuse. Rape is about aggression, and control.
Is there a male figure, currently in your life, that has a control issue?...a boss, co-worker, etc?

This could be causing the nightmare. If possible, try to find a counsellor, you can talk to. Your being abused was not your fault, but you are paying the price. If you cannot afford a 'therapist' persay...there are free programs out there for rape counseling.

I hope this gives you some small comfort.
