our dreams contains messages that tells us something about ourselves. most of the people tend to forget their dream when they wake up. but have you experienced that you keep on dreaming the same thing over and over again? yup that's recurring dream. recurring dream usually tells us something so important that it will not stop until you figured it out. it seems like a defense mechanism of our subconscious mind. it can reveal some valuable information about us. it maybe frustration, or unresolved or unsettled conflict in our waking life. or some urgent underlying message in your subconscious mind that wants itself to be understood. here are some tips that i learned and personally use in my recurring dreams.
1. know. you must know or learn what your recurring dream means. the elements in your dream my symbolize any aspect in your life, that may need to be changed, replaced, or enhanced.
2. understand. you must understand why those recurring dreams happen. are the symbols in your dream really matter to you, well, most probably yes, because it keeps on coming back.
3. accept. there will be changes in your life, and you have to accept it. that is why your subconscious mind keeps on telling it to you.
4. if you really can't figure it out, try confronting your dream. that may be lucid dreaming. i can help a lot. with this, you can get direct access to the message that your subconscious is trying to tell.
5. patience. sometimes when you already realized what you dreamt, it still keeps on coming back. it is still a defense mechanism of your subconscious mind reminding you, and keeping you on track.
when you fully discovered what your recurring dream is trying to tell you, it will eventually disappear.
i personally have recurring dreams up to 4 years, as soon as i realized what it meant then *puff* one day it stopped.
