In my dream I am lead by my friend and my father over a narrow strip of concrete and I lose grip of the clothing that I am carrying and get yelled at for it and when I try to jump off and swim to get it, I start to drown as my friend pulls me up. Later they say sorry and turns out that this all a trap to get me to be locked up in a hotel room for two days by my mother and go through a therapy session where I cannot have anything else besides my school work and Disney movies playing in succession. Afterwards, when I am finally let out and able to sleep I am late for my class the next day and my professors won't allow me to explain the situation to them. I find a karate instructor and ask if she will allow me to practice for my class with her students. I am accepted and take off three layers of clothing to get to my work out clothes and am paired with a tall man about the age of 20. When my family and teachers start to accuse me of something I become enraged and he takes me into his arms and I only calm down for him. He tells them that this is all their fault and that if it came to it he would hurt ever last one of them. The dream ends and I wake up still feeling that rage in my chest. If it helps, I am a 20 yr old woman in college who was never trusting of her parents.

Being Lead - represents the trust you have in the one who is leading you. Also, represents an influence from something, or someone, such as a belief or a need to feel confident. Who is leading you might represent either the confidence or the need.
Because you are being led to what you feel is a trap, suggests you do not trust who is being represented as the leader.

Friends - Our dreams are full of symbolism with their messengers being all different types of people. It is very common to dream about our friends. These are individuals that are emotionally valuable to us, and we learn about ourselves through them.
This dream is more than likely attempting to bring up uncomfortable feelings that you have about yourself, others...or more specifically, your relationship with your friend. (Remember "uncomfortable" does not necessarily mean bad).

Father - Your father or a father figure represents your need for safety and security, especially in women's dreams. Dreams with fathers in them can be looked at on several different levels. You may be dreaming about your father and expressing your feelings about him in a safe way. Traditionally, a father dream can be seen as symbolizing authority and power. In the dream you may be expressing your attitude about strengths and weaknesses as they relate to your position in life and your general attitude toward society.

Concrete - represents your solid and clear understanding of some situation.

Jumping off - Suggests you're feeling the need to get out of something in your waking life.

Clothing - represents the roles that we play in life, and the stance, or attitudes we use to meet other people or special situations...such as work, danger, self-protection, feelings of reserve, shyness, anxiety, or aggressiveness. Clothes can depict self-respect, and how we see ourselves in society, and how we want others to perceive us..(the difference between what we want, and what we feel others want of us). When we consider their color, our clothes can express our emotional condition and moods.

Jump in Water (to retrieve(rescue) clothing):
Water - represents your subconscious, and your accumulated life experiences, and the flow of 'feeling' energy. It is also a symbol of new life, refreshment, vigor, energy, cleansing, emotional stirrings, fertility, growth, and creative potential.
The condition, or movement, of the water symbolizes your current feelings and emotions. Examples: Clear calm water would depict a feeling of overall good health, and well-being, clear thoughts and a focused mind. Muddy watter would suggest unclear, or 'muddy' thoughts and emotions. Turbulent water symbolizes turbulence and turmoil within your emotional life. Dark water suggests depression, dark thoughts or moods as well as emotions and attitudes that are hidden that want to be made conscious.

Swimming - suggests you feel as though you are swimming through the depths of your subconscious and emotions. The ease with which you are doing this activity will give you clues as to how well you are navigating through those very complex parts of yourself within your waking life. Swimming in murky water indicates an environment of negative, or depressive emotions.

Drown/Drowning - suggests there is some area in your life where you feel you are unable to "keep your head above water", or that you have emotions are threatening to overwhelm you, or 'drown' you....perhaps by work, obligations, too many people making too many demands you, or by life itself.

Rescuing/Rescued - In dreams of rescuing, you are either doing the rescuing or are in need of being rescued.
If you are doing the rescuing, you likely see yourself as a leader, shepherd, parent, or role model to others. Who , or what you rescue...and what you rescue them, or it from ...and how you did it, often reveals how you see yourself within a particular network of relationships.

If you are the one being rescued, it is likely that you are overwhelmed or feeling incompetent in an important area of your waking life. You may be feeling that the consequences of failure could be catastrophic. If your rescuer is someone known to you in waking life, it may be worth seeking his or her advice concerning particular struggles you are facing.

Trapped - trapped dreams are common. They typically occur when you feel great confusion or conflict about how to act in some waking situation, or that you feel there is no way out of a certain situation.

Held captive - Dreaming about being imprisoned, locked in a room, or restrained against your will can be a powerful dream image. What is especially notable about this type of dream situation is how you react to the circumstances. At times we may try to escape, but other times we may just give up, or even cooperate with, our captors. Much of this depends on who is holding you captive and why. If you are cooperating with a familiar captor, it may be that you feel that person controls your life to such an extent that you are unable to act on your decisions. Being held by someone unknown, for an unknown reason suggests you feel as though you are a victim of circumstances beyond your control.
Alternately, it could suggest you feel guilty for something that happened in the past... a past sexual indiscretion, repeating bad gossip about someone,,,anything that you now regret.

Therapy - suggests a need for self-assessment. It may be that you have learned something about yourself, or someone else, and you are having trouble accepting this new information as the truth, or that you feel you must change the way you think, or accept information, and you're finding it very difficult.
Because your 'therapy' was to be nothing but school work and Disney movies, suggests that you feel as though you are not being accepted as an adult, that you you are being treated as a child.

Late for class - your subconscious may be telling you to be more perceptive and to use more foresight when making plans. Lateness suggests that you may be feeling unprepared and distracted in a particular situation in daily life or in regard to long term goals.

Karate - the art of self defense. It suggests that you feel the need to defend your words or actions. Alternately, it's possible that you feel the need to defend someone else.

3 layers of clothing -(*see clothing above) That you had many layers suggests you feel the need for protection from someone, or something in your waking life. Could also suggest you feel the need to hide, or retreat from the public eye.
The number 3 - the trinity. It is an active or a process number (something is going on in the psyche). The number three may symbolize vision(forward thinking), completeness, and fulfillment. Also, anything that may contribute to your personal fulfillment... for example, the resolving of conflict between two opposing forces.

Tall man (unknown) - Strangers - If these people are totally unrecognizable (they don't remind you of anyone you know)... they would represent different, and unknown, aspects of yourself. They are extensions and projections of your own subconscious, and personality.

Human beings (male and female alike), are curious, questioning, and have a need for information, and spiritual expansion. But... we all have masculine and feminine aspects (or sides) to our subconscious.
The masculine aspects would be the part of ourselves that we view as brave, strong, stubbornness, authoritative, logical...etc.
The feminine aspects would be the part of ourselves that we view as emotional, nurturing, tender, yielding, sensitive...etc.
When we dream, all the different parts of our 'inner selves' interact, and 'come alive', as though they were different people.

Accused - suggests you feel that you must confront something, or someone, in your waking life. Alternately, it could suggest that you feel guilty of something, or that you feel you are 'under attack' in your waking life.

Angry - People who dream of being angry often have difficulty expressing the emotion constructively in waking life. Anger is a reaction to a perceived threat. As such, anger reflects our feeling that we are being denied what is ours by necessity or by right. Dreams that contain anger may often give insight into our waking relationships. Sometimes, you may find yourself dreaming of being angry at someone who never angers you in waking life. This may simply be an indication that they are not perfect, a sort of check that reminds you that they are human.
Alternately, it may be a carryover from your daily life. In our dreams we can experience and express such feelings safely. Feeling great anger in your dream may be disturbing but pay attention to it and attempt to deal with all of your emotions in a more appropriate and productive manner.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is there something in your life that you refuse to accept?
Do you feel the need to 'hide' from public view?
Do you have an anger issue with someone, or some situation?
Is there a task that you know you must do, but you'd like to get out of it?
Do you feel 'trapped' anywhere in your life?
Are you feeling overwhelmed, physically or emotionally, in any aspect of your life?
Do you feel the need for protection?
Do you feel as though you have been betrayed, 'double-crossed', or that someone doesn't have your best interests in mind?
Has someone done something, saying it was 'for your own good'....and you resent them for it?
I hope I could help, good luck!
