Hi there

I am 17 weeks pregnant.  Had a dream that we gave birth to what I was told was a baby boy.  When they brought him over he was in pink jumpsuit because they had said they'd run out of blue ones.  When my husband held the baby in his arms, the first thing he said was "hello jeremy" - we didn't have any names picked yet.

Anyone have any ideas?

First off....CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Having 'baby dreams' and 'birth dreams' are common, and totally normal in women who are pregnant. The confusion about the sex of the baby suggests that you really have no preference, that you just want a healthy baby. But, because your husband called him by a boy's name, suggests you may be feeling that he wants a boy...as well as the fact you may be thinking the baby IS a boy.
Your babies' genetic gender is decided at conception, but is only distinguishable after 6 weeks. As strange as it may seem....you already know which it'll be! That is to say, your body already knows, because of the hormonal goings on within your body.
Depending on your body's build, you may already be 'showing'....and now you're possibly starting to refer to your tummy as him or her, rather than 'it' or 'the baby'.
Your dream is more than likely a result of your anxious waiting for the arrival of your new little human, and the feeling that it's time to start thinking about names.

Hope this gives you some insight.

Hugs, Hope & Happiness to You, Hubby & Baby!

JayRae, I think you have hit the nail on the head, your reply is somewhat psychic.
I have no preference at all to what the sex is, I am so excited to be having a baby, that all I want is a healthy one.  My husband doesn't particularly care either, however believes that it's a boy, this coming from a man who new I was pregnant before I did  Smiley

Thanks, your reply makes everything so much clearer.

You're so welcome....glad I could help!
Pregnancy is a wonderous thing, and with it come all sorts of dreams. Wait 'til that wee one starts kicking....LOL! When I was pregnant with my first, and he started the kicking, made me have dreams I was on a rollercoaster. You know that tickly feeling in your tummy when you go up & over a hill really fast?....That's what it felt like when he kicked.
So, good luck, have fun, and sweet dreams.
Hugs!

Maybe my minds just playing tricks on me now.

Like trying on different outfits when shopping, your subconscious is playing out the 'what if ' scenario....wondering how your hubby would feel if you had a girl instead of a boy.

Until you know for sure what gender the baby is, buy neutral colors... green, yellow, and white. Wink

Cheers!!
