I've noticed that many dreamers are sensitive to other kinds of paranormal activity such as: hearing disembodied voices; seeing actual spirits; sensing a presence in the room with you; OBE (out of body experience); sleep paralysis, etc...
I'm curious to know what types of people encounter paranormal occurrences & what similar patterns in lifestyle & personal interests correspond to certain extrasensory experiences.
Is anyone familiar with the term "coins from heaven". Have you ever suddenly discovered coins (dimes, pennies, etc.) in strange places on a daily basis after someone close to you has passed on?
Another phenomenon I'm interested in discussing is the term "doppelganger" (walking double)? Studies have indicated that everyone has an evil twin somewhere on earth who is said to be not of this world. Has anyone ever mistaken you for someone else? Have you been blamed for something you didn't do because the accuser swears they have seen you in a place you have never visited?
Any other type of paranormal posting is strongly encouraged. Please list your occupation & creative interests w/ your stories. --Goddess V.

Hey, Goddess! It's a very interesting topic you've started here. So here's my basic background as you requested: I'm the managing editor & lead writer for www.davidarchuletafanblast.com. Along with that, I just started working as a seasonal stocker at Kohl's. (Last Tuesday was my orientation.) My creative interests include writing, singing/anything with music, photography & baking (desserts mostly, hehe). I've had so many experiences, it's almost ridiculous! Here goes: I've been mistaken for other people MANY times. They'll call me by the other person's name or ask how work was going at a place like Best Buy (I've never worked there), & I'd always tell them "you've got the wrong person." I've lost count how many times it's happened. I've discovered that I dream other peoples' dreams & am able to be physically there when something happens in their life. What I mean by that is that they're all complete strangers to me & that when something happens that they deem important, I'm "there" at the moment it happens (& before & a few minutes/seconds afterward). I'm probably not explaining this well at all though. The only reason I know this is because I visit 2 other forums beside this one, & it was quite a shock to read descriptions of things happening to other people that I've already experienced/seen in my dreams! I've found a LOT of loose change in my life. Sometimes I find them multiple times a day, & other times, I don't find any. They're mostly pennies but the most recent coin was a quarter I found last Monday, actually. & since I find them for a reason, I ALWAYS pick them up. I've heard a voice say "Greetings" directly into my left ear at 5:30 in the morning while I was brushing my teeth & everyone else was asleep. I've also heard whispers & scents while I was home. Sometimes it would be diapers, baby powder, etc., & sometimes it would be like a man's musky scent. I've also had focused air blow across my cheek & into my ear when there was no reason for it. The night before we put our sweet dog to sleep in September 2006, I heard this heart-wrenching, soul-wringing, tortured cry that rang through the house for maybe 10 seconds longer than it should've. (This was at 11 at night.) It felt sort of like the air itself was hacked in two. According to Irish legend (I'm paraphrasing here), it's the soul's scream when it knows that it's time for its earthly body to die. & when the banshee hears that cry, it comes to take your loved one away. For a while (about 2 or 3 years), the room I share with my 2 younger sisters was extremely busy at night. There would be about 8 different footsteps & the pacing would continue for about 20 minutes after I went to bed. (It ALWAYS happened after I slipped under the covers. It never happened with my sisters.) We shared our mid-1800s era house with about 5 or 6 spirits until recently. My sisters & mom always saw 3 or 4 other spirits (all dressed in black with a black top hat, another would be wearing a hoop skirt dress & one was wearing a sheriff's uniform from that time), but I always saw this woman I called "Lady in White". What she would do was hover by the doorframe to our bedroom & watch us sleep for about 20 minutes. Other times, she'd enter the room & pace while she read a book, looking up every so often to see if we were paying attention. What was REALLY spooky about this was the fact that I'd had dreams about her before I actually saw her. We used to have a wicker elephant basket thing in our room by the windows that Bachi, our Polish great-grandmother, gave us. Whenever any of us left the room for a bit & then went back in for something, the head of it would be moved to face the corner of the wall. Other times, it'd face either to the left (the windows) or right (the room), but it'd never be left the way we had it (looking toward my side of the room/center). My parents finally took it out after a few months of us complaining about it. Whenever I was alone in the kitchen, I'd hear this sharp rapping at the back door, like someone got pissed because they forgot their key to it/no one was answering the door & wanted in. But there never was, because our backyard is fenced in, with locks on both gates on either side of the house. When we first moved into the house, my mom said my youngest sister (who was 2 at the time) would go up & down the stairs constantly. When she asked her why, she told my mom that she kept hearing a baby's cry. (We later found out that our closet was used as a nursery when we ripped up the ugly rug in our room.) Things of mine would go missing only to reappear in an extremely odd place (i.e., under my bed, the couch, on top of something...). For several weeks about 7 years ago, our room was BUSY. I mean, my sisters & I both saw lights moving across our walls, as though someone was opening & closing a door with light behind it. It was this bright yellow light. I always used to find pieces of paper in a desk drawer we had in our room with things like "Hi! How are you? I am fine." etc., & the notes would always be signed "Nathina" (or some spelling similar to it). The writing was always from a young child's. Once I saw my sister's spirit leave her body & walk out the room while she (her physical body) was sleeping. When I asked her where she went the next day, she said she didn't go anywhere. I've had 2 visions while I was awake. One was about 12 or 13 years ago: We (sisters & my mom) were leaving our supermarket when I went in a trance or got caught in a time warp, I guess. I saw this horrible accident in the main lanes of the parking lot (closest to the grocery store), & seeing the EMS, ambulance, etc. trying to pull this woman out of her car, which had been smushed in. I snapped out of it when my mom practically screamed my name from across the parking lot. I was getting strange looks after that, cuz I was literally FROZEN to the spot. I was pushing the cart out when I had the vision. The second was at home, & it happened this past summer (either July or August). Everyone was gone, & I'd gone outside to put some trash in our bin. Upon opening the back door to go back in the house, I, for SOME reason, leaned back & I "saw" myself (but it wasn't my body) fall head over heels down our basement door & land with a thud on the cement square at the base. (I literally felt the whole thing.) She died upon impact, but I remember staring at the door from the square & seeing my husband looking down at me. The woman was very pretty, thin, with blond hair & beautiful sky blue eyes. She was wearing an outfit that covered her from the bottom of her neck to her ankles at the time of her death. I snapped back to reality to see myself in the same position & my hand literally had a death grip on the doorknob. It was hard to do anything with it for a few hours; I was holding it that hard. There's a few more, but I can't think of any right now, lol. Have you had any experiences yourself?

This was an experience I just wanted to write down because I never understood it.
When I was 11 years old I was just laying down to go to sleep, I wasn't sleepy yet and was fully aware. I sleep with the light on, and was just alone with my thoughts. I wasnt' thinking anything heavy or scary, just typical 11 year old girl thoughts. Then I felt air movement in the room, the door was shut so this I thought was strange. The light's dimmed and I remember a feeling coming over me like I can't describe. I rolled onto my back to look around the room. On the wall at the end of my bed where there should have been my furniture was a doorway. Just a shape of one with twinkling lights shining through. I thought I must be dreaming and rubbed my eyes to see better and it didn't go away. The lights started moving like I would picture if you were in space and going foreward very very fast. Wierd I know. Then it slows down and all the time I can't help but feel this incredible feeling of what I would call bliss and love. There's a kind of communication that occurs but in my head straight to my brain, not verbally. All I know is that I was invited into this place I couldn't understand. It's not clear but I had all sorts of things spinning through my head like messages. I "saw" beautiful places, paradise, and knowledge beyond my comprehension. I felt like a gift was offered but I was afraid. I felt very drawn to go through the doorway. It felt like a part of myself that I had never tapped into before, but it was outside of me. Hope that makes sense. Now as I read more and learn more I think it was a message. Also I think it was like my spirit had a merging with a collective higher consiousness. Sorry it's so long, it's really hard to put into words. The stuff I saw in my head was so incredible and compassionate. And never have I doubted it as divine truth.
Please, any thoughts are welcome. I know it's strange, and if it was a spiritual awakening of sorts, how could it happen at such a young age? I was never religious or spiritual when I was a kid.
I've also felt, heard and very seldom have seen ghosts. One used to come into my room at night when I was small. It was an old lady and she would sit by my bed and touch my arm. I hated it and the touch felt like ice shooting through my arm and electical shock at the same time. I've had a few other unusual experiences but just thought to mention these. I dont' get mistaken for someone else very often, and no I don't get coins dropping at my feet ever, but I have had dragonflys land on my shoulder often and they stay there, and I've had feathers fall at my feet from apparently nowhere.
I am a stay at home mum of 4 and am married. I never believed in God or anything religious when I was young, the only thing I knew was that there is spirit in everything( in nature). I loved ghost stories growing up as the house I grew up in was haunted, and always had a very good imagination. I paint, play various musical intruments, look after a lot of animals, dance. Besides having a creative streak I think I'm totally normal. I do now believe in spirits and paranormal happenings but not without a healthy dose of skeptisism. And I'm studying my ablilties that have laid dormant since I was young.

Star Fire Song, you never disappoint! Every item you share is beautifully illustrated & packed with entertaining info.
Like you Star, I have pocketed coins continuously after each of my parents left this life. When I first began my second creative career as a wardrobe stylist I agonized over whether I should pursue the new venture. One day while I prepared for my first wardrobe styling magazine shoot I pulled out a suitcase to fill it with clothing, shoes & accessories. I paused before I began packing to ask for a sign & when I opened the bag I found a shiny dime. The coin had the year of my mother's death stamped on it. I felt a bit sad, but not convinced. I then decided the suitcase was not large enough so I pulled out another bag from the luggage set. I unzipped one of the pockets to find another 10 cent piece with the date of my father's death & from that second sign I was certain I had made the right choice.
A few years back I was awakened by the intense scent of sulphur. The strong odor made me queasy & I had to quickly cover my nose & mouth to prevent myself from getting sick. I immediately jumped out of bed to see if something was burning in the house. As I searched for the source of the smell the scent slowly disappeared. Other times I'm roused from my sleep by someone calling my name or bumping my bed or I'm startled by a distorted ringing sound. This is called "auditory sleep starts" or "exploding head syndrome". It sounds scary, but it is not life threatening & often occurs when I'm exhausted. Also when I'm overly tired I will dream of a solution to a problem before the situation happens. The answer is usually in a metaphoric phrase which I decipher when the situation reveals itself when I'm awake.
You & Geehutch are sensitive to seeing spirits: psychokinetic phenomena. Star Fire Song, you've had quite a few ghost sitings & precognitive episodes (deja vu; paramnesia). The houses you've lived in are no doubt haunted!
Geehutch-- Let's start with this statement of yours: Things of mine would go missing only to reappear in an extremely odd place (i.e., under my bed, the couch, on top of something...). A similar incident happened to me recently & on another occasion. The paranormal activity is known as the DOPler Effect (disappearing object phenomenon). Objects you normally place in the same spot everyday will suddenly go missing for minutes, hours or longer. Then when you return to that exact spot your missing item is magically in view. It's almost as if some trickster energy hid the object then returned it after a good laugh!
Last week I searched in my usual location for my SS card & became very frustrated when I couldn't retrieve it. I then looked slowly & carefully between each piece of paper in the file section where I always keep my card, but apparently my card decided to go on vacation. Two days later I reopened the drawer & looked in between the papers & just as I separated my "2 page hiding place" the card appeared in mid air & dropped in between the papers. It was almost like an invisible hand concealed the card in mid air then released it as I parted the file papers.
Like Star Fire Song you seem to have also experienced mild psychokinetic phenomena: seeing dead people! You said: I've also felt, heard and very seldom have seen ghosts. One used to come into my room at night when I was small. It was an old lady and she would sit by my bed and touch my arm. I hated it and the touch felt like ice shooting through my arm and electical shock at the same time.
Geehutch, I'm not sure how to classify your "illuminated door" scene, but it sounds beautiful & I'm positive it corresponds to your higher purpose path!
So far, the obvious pattern is that we all share an interest in writing or have creative tendencies. I need more posts to draw a final conclusion or to at least uncover more related or consistent patterns!
Thanks so much for your input Geehutch & Star Fire Song! --Goddess V.

I just reread this part of your post Star Fire Song: Once I saw my sister's spirit leave her body & walk out the room while she (her physical body) was sleeping. When I asked her where she went the next day, she said she didn't go anywhere.
I forgot to mention the mutual OBE (out of body experience) me & my mom had when I was a child. I was already out of my physical body as I watched my mom sleeping in her room. She (her spirit) suddenly sat up then floated in mid air to the foot of her bed. Her spirit self turned to stare at her body that remained motionless beneath the covers. My mom's spirit floated to the hallway where my disembodied spirit met her at the top of the staircase. We both drifted down the steps & glided to the front door where my mom checked the lock then peeked into the kitchen to make sure it was secure. We joined each other at the foot of the stairs & returned to the upstairs hall. My mom reentered her room & placed her spirit self directly on top of her body & I returned to my bed & crawled back onto my sleeping form. I'm uncertain if we experienced sleep paralysis during this OBE. I still have sleep paralysis episodes. When we both shared the same story the next day neither one of us was surprised. Discussing dream meanings & supernatural events was very common in our household. My mom was more in tune to seeing & feeling the presence of spirits, but I didn't develop that ability. She once told me she was almost knocked out of her chair by an impatient spirit running past her chair.
Also Star Fire Song, I wonder if you were caught in a time slip/glitch when this happened to you: I've had 2 visions while I was awake.
To everyone, please post your supernatural/paranormal tales here. Please add your occupation & other interests with your story. --thanks, Goddess V!

Goddess V, I aggree with the whole OBE experiences as I do believe it can happen. Your experience with your mom was really something awesome. I had similar things happen with me and my mom where we shared dreams and they were exaclty the same just from our own points of view though. Something bizarre that happened was when we moved to Canada, I was about 10 and my mom was about 40 years old. We both dreamt there were native americans pacing through our house, going up and down the stairs, I could hear their feet and smell smoke and hear mumbling that I couldn't make out. Now this sounds so unbleleivable but it's true, a neihbour came over the other day saying the university people from the city were out surveying the land. They claim that there are ancient burial grounds running throughout this area. My neighbour lives on a strip of land that is right next to my parents property and where my husband and I live now is next door to that also. And what is so ironic, there is a sand bar under all these properties that is very deep and used to be the old lake shore when the edge of the lake reached this far out.(this is where the univerty people claim would be the ideal location for burial sites, and that's why they were checking it out) Over the years the lake had receded about 1 mile. When we dug the basement out for our house that my husband and I built we discovered this sand and it is pure white and is very deep. My neihbour is lucky enough that his father who is very old now was one of the pioneers to first settled here. They remember that there were mounds in groups of 3 with very large circles of stones laid around them. These mounds and rock formations were found by the pioneers and were probably on all three of our properties as this is where the sand bar runs. We are told that's where they buried their shamens. And gerenally the other native's buried here were scatttered along the bushline that was here before agriculture took over the land and it was cleared for farming. These mounds are suspected to be too old to find bones or anything much. The university is just waiting for the funding to do a dig. I couldn't believe it when I heard about it. It explained all my dreams I had growing up about bones being buried here. I dreamt there were layers and layers of them. I don't know too much yet, all I do know is that they were Plains Indians and they migrated up here to the North every year following their game they hunted (buffalo) and for thousands of years this was one of the places they came to bury their dead especially their shamens. There is a lot people here still don't know about them as they preceed the Native American's that were here when white man came to Canada. This is just one of many burial sites as there are many more all over Canada, I just thought it was really cool to find out this information, and I have the deepest respects for Native American people and their culture. I wish these places had been protected but they haven't, as back 100 years ago people didn't know any better and settled here to farm the land. As for the people who want to do the archeological dig here they probably won't find anything as the field the mounds were in has had crops growing in it for years. Very sad. But it explains alot of things that happened in my parent's house and the wierd dreams I had for years about bones under the ground. I always wanted to do a vision quest here, and maybe I will one day. Anyway, just wanted to share that, I know it sounds too ironic but it's true, I never dreamed in a thousand years I would find that out. What's really interesting is that they buried their highly revered in groups of 3? Why do you think, because they had no idea of Christ and the holy trinity. Sorry this was so long, I just wanted to explain it as fully as I could to make it understandable.

Hi everyone, I'm a 27 year old full time mum. I am English but moved to France six years ago. I have never felt satisfied with work I have done in the past, hotel receptionist, leisure club marketing and that sort of thing. My passion is music, I've been writing lyrics and music seriously for almost a year. I am the lead singer in a small band and I recently completed a 50 songs in 90 days challenge. Anything crafty like card making and porcelain painting, pencil drawing etc, that's what I love! And of course, I spend many happy hours caring for our two beautiful children I teach English to a handful of local school children. I have always been intrigued by the spirit world, and I've really enjoyed reading the above posts - have to say though, it's all rather creepy! I have a little collection of ghost books and video's. I wouldn't say I am connected to the spirit world, or certainly not on the same level as you all seem to be. Perhaps they realise I couldn't cope with the consequences! However, I have had some funny experiences. I've already made a post about voices in the night, thank you for the responces, I'll hopefully get a better read of those after Christmas. After reading about you all losing things I actually realised that this happens to me very often. I put it down to me being scatty, here's an example. Yesterday I wrote a letter to a friend. I'd had the stamps on the table next to me the whole time and I didn't get up or leave the table. Once the letter was in it's envelope I went to stick on the stamps - they were gone! I looked high and low for them for about 45 minutes, in the end I was really annoyed. I sat down at my computer and sent a message to my friend to apologise that the letter would be late and suddenly I saw them on the floor to the left of my chair. I hadn't moved and the children were both in bed! I once shared the same dream with a partner, some years ago now but we both woke up (in the same bed), and realised we'd had the very same dream about a friend. Very often I smell funny smells around the house, tobacco and burning smells, perhaps a perfume that I know is not my own. Every few months I can distinctly smell my Great Nannar and Granpa's house, it had a very strong coal kind of smell, mixed with old people and baking! It always catches me when I least expect it, but usually just before some kind of family occasion. I have also experienced cold draft or warm breeze in the middle of a closed room. It happened the other morning in bed. As though somebody had opened the door. Speaking of which, last night I made a final check on my son before turning in for the night. When I walked out I closed the door, as I did so I looked at his photo which we stuck on for him. I walked across the hall to the kitchen, had a drink of water and walked out again, only to see his bedroom door wide open. It scared me and I had to check he was still sleeping in his bed, which of course he was! Sometimes I hear noises around the house that seem very human like, rustling of bed sheets or shuffle of feet, a closing drawer that kind of thing. I usually don't think much about it and put it down to general house moans and groans. What else...when I'm really tired I see things moving out of the corner of my eye! That happens a lot, whether it's just fatigue I don't know. It's very often something like a dog in the room or a figure walking past a doorway. I've always put that down to my mind playing games and telling me I should really go to bed! Once when I was working in a dog kennel, posh place in the middle of some woods back in England! I was in one of the kennels with a dog and it's water bowl begand to slide across the floor. I thought at first it was due to the bottom being wet but it was scrapping across the floor and moved about 2 meters. I ran out and told my coworkers about it, they told me the kennels were haunted and I never felt comfortable after that. I was about 13 years old. I'm very close to my sister, we often have the same crazy thoughts about random things. I don't know about walking doubles, I've never really had any comments made about me looking like anybody or being mistaken for someone else. One more thing that bugs me, sometimes when I go to bed, when I'm relaxed with my head on the pillow, I get this sensation! I have never been ale to explain this, even to myself. It's as though I'm a child laying on something cold and hard, a wooden floor or the likes. I really don't know. It hasn't happened for a while but when it does I feel as though it's some kind of message from the past. It lasts about a minute, I don't experience any visions or thoughts, just that I am small and not very comfortable! Anybody else have any unexplained sensations? Right, that's me! Thanks for reading this far and take care all. If I think of anything else I'll pop back, Linzi

Wow Linzi I think you are more connected to the spirit world than you think. Just remember if this bothers you or you seem to be getting in more than you can handle and it upset's you then just say under your breath " God it's too much for me to handle, take it off me for now, only let me experience what I can handle", I know it sounds silly but it has worked wonders for me, even if you don't believe in God, you can pray it to whomever you like, even your deceased relatives. I think you do have a spirit living with you. And as far as the wierd sensations go when you lay down at night to go to sleep, that may be a past life thing you are stuck in, or it may be a way the spirit chooses to communicate with you without scaring the hell out of you. I often feel the sensation of being touched on my face and the bed vibrating when I lay down. Very annoying! My sensations come from my spirit guide I think. All the crappy feelings you've had lately can be spirits projecting their emotions onto you too. It's hard I know but that is sometimes their way of communication also, it's like they want you to feel how they felt so you will have sympathy for them, they don't realise you don't know what's going on. Do you think your little ghost could be a child? Did you know we look like ghosts (shadows, whispy movment, specs of light) to ghosts? how strange is that. They are just energy on a different plane than ours, nothing to fear except if you get a grouchy one.LOL. Most are not. I'm not scared of them anymore now that I understand the whole thing alot better.

Linzi, this is the first time I've seen your accent come through in your writing. I didn't know you were from England! I've held a fascination for your country & Ireland for as long as I can remember. Goddess, whatever I'm doing with my writing seems to be fascinating to people. Not sure why, but I'll keep it up...hahah! I've always loved finding coins on the ground. A few family members have passed on, so I always attribute it to them or my spirit guide. You're lucky you found your social security card back in the same place you actually had it in. My things always go missing & reappear in the oddest places; places I'd never put them in in the first place! Example: I had a library book I was reading. I put it down on the couch (book in a "tent" shape so I didn't have to bookmark it) to do something, & when I came back, the book was gone. I searched high & low for it, but couldn't find it. 2 weeks later, the book was overdue. My dad was vacuuming the floor in the living room & he'd moved the couch to get under it. There it was on the floor, closed, with no damage to it whatsoever! That OBE with your mother is amazing, & so is the fact that she was nearly knocked off her chair. Wow. I've had the precognitive episodes since I was a little girl, actually. But it's actually increased over time, to the point where quite a few times a DAY I'm going "I've dreamed this". Geehutch, your illuminated doorway sounds gorgeous. I had a similar experience while meditating in my bed a few years back. Those experiences are always incredible. Here's another strange episode for you: About a week or 2 ago, I had just crawled into my bed. I remember thinking something along the lines of "Since I seem to be a strong dreamer, I wonder if I can make contact with a spirit." I close my eyes, & I see 2 lines of people: The line from the left is going to the right, & the line from the right is going to the left. They're all dressed in brown, with no distinguishing features, but I know instinctively which spirit is man, woman or child. A woman (again, instinctive) breaks away from the line to the right & walks to me. She shows me her life in the back alleys of London, England. I don't remember the details of her life, but suffice it to say, she had a horrible one, on par with the author of A Child Called It...but quite a bit worse. It took place sometime in the early part of the 1900s. I remember this scene just before I awake: The streets are cobblestone, with buildings close together. It's night, & only 2 porch (gas) lights are on. I walk up to a door (my former home) & knock on it. I have a child with me; he's dressed in rags & I'm so hungry. The door flings open, & this mean, muscular man steps into the light. I can only see the shape of him because the light's illuminating him from behind. He cackles when he sees me & says, "So, this is the whore who decided to return, eh?" & without warning, he backhands me so hard I fly off his small stoop & land on my back in the middle of the one-lane street. He chuckles again & slams the door. My son comes to me & asks if I'm ok, & I tell him I am, although my back hurts like hell. But I don't tell him that that was my father & that he is the result of the abuse I suffered at his hand. (I left the place at 17. I return about 10 years after.)When I get myself out of this dream, I quickly return to the 2 lines of people dressed in brown before I gasp myself awake at 12:15 AM. I turn around, close my eyes, & this unbelievably cold finger touches the back of my neck & moves slowly up. I could feel the cold right through to the front of my body. I also know that it was the woman who showed me her life. (She left me with the distinct impression that she was thanking me.) That took place at 12:17 AM. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to you!

Geehutch: the name we are given at birth & the nick names, on line names, etc. we choose are no random process. "Gee" or letter "g" is the 7th letter of the alphabet. The number seven symbolizes mystical inner transformation & God. "Hutch" is a storage place. So your inner being is a holding area or vessel for spiritual progression.
Star Fire Song, the word "star" represents your spiritual life. "Fire" denotes transformation. The "song" is the rich, complex, but cryptic message you have to deliver to the world through your writing.
I believe it is very important for you two to embark on your personal vision quest soon (dream incubation). Your vision quest will induce spiritually potent dreams. In ancient times the Plains Indian tribes (Crow, Blackfoot & Cheyenne) searched for the most powerful & sacred place to practice a vision quest: the top of a mountain! I'm not suggesting you hike to & scale the highest peak for spiritual illumination, but do locate a peaceful place surging with positive energy to increase your spiritual healing abilities.
I will comment more on what you have shared in your posts. I will also get to you too, Linzi! This subject is becoming more detailed than I imaged, but I thank all of you for your very generous input!
Also Geehutch, Star Fire Song & Linzi, when & if you did smell odors/scents, were they sometimes overpowering like strong sulphur burning mixed with a bit of ammonia?

Ok Geehutch I read a little more. I too have the vibrating bed sensation when I am in bed or it feels like someone is bumping the bed to get my attention. Wow, I had no idea that spirits see us living beings as shadows, wispy movements & specks of light!

I think the vibrations when we lay down to sleep is because our energy is kind of charged or charging and has to do with frequencies of our own Electro Magnetic Fields. Some people do have a higher frequency which makes it easier to be clairovoyant or phycic. And I do fully believe that we are like ghosts in the spirit world to put it simply. That is why we cannot just carry on conversations with them like the living, why we must meditate or whatever works to shift our consiousness to a different vibrational setting to communicate. When they reach out to us, and we reach out to them it has to be a mutual effort of both parties to connect. They appear to us as we appear to them. No wonder we scare them sometimes! My name is Georgina but nobody ever called me that they just had so many different variations of it I just settled for Gee, which is also by coincidence the people's last name of the property I live on now! Funny, and ironic isn't it. And Hutch is part of my maiden name which was also a nickname I went by when I lived in my first home, which was small. Thanks for the name Info, that was great to hear! I knew my name meant something but never figured it meant that. As for the smells, I just get a whiff of a perfume like a floral scent/garden in bloom once in a while when there are nice spirits around, never have I smelt sulfur. I have smelt like a rotten smell before though and it was in my old home in England. It was terrible. There was a very nasty spirit there I think.

This has been a great read, somehow it connects us to each other as well as to the spirit world.
Hi Goddess, if and when I smell burning it is usually quite a tame smell, nothing chemical or serious. Just as though somebody has lit a fire outside but I don't see smoke and it doesn't smell when I step out onto the balcony. Although, I guess there are times it smells like plastic is being heated, as if something in the house is about to set alight - but doesn't thank goodness!
Yes Starfiresong, I'm from the UK! Derbyshire to be exact, I think it's supposed to be one of the most haunted regions! There are certainly a lot of oldwives tales and ghosts stories circling the little towns and country villages. I miss that! Your supernatural experiences are fascinating to read.
I posted a dream I had a few nights ago about a little girl running through dark corridors. I actually woke with the very solid impression my bed was shaking me back and forth. I shot up in bed and felt sure the vibrations had woken me with a start. It took me a long time to settle again. Thank you Geehutch for those ideas. I did ask for some peace and quiet a couple of weeks ago as you suggested. Christmas has been and almost gone and things seem to have settle for the time being.
Hope you have all had a lovely time, the new year is approaching fast!
Take care, Linzi

Thanks Geehutch for the recharging/frequency info. I know we all vibrate at different frequencies, but never connected that concept to my bed quake episodes. I do believe the shaking/bumping is due to linking with the spiritual world on some level. Geehutch & Linzi, it is a relief to discover I am not vibrating alone!
I'll pop back in when I can!

Linzi, that's SO cool! Love haunted places. Goddess, I haven't smelled the sulphur & ammonia scent before. Here's yet another incident: My mom shared a dream with me that she had a few nights ago. The moment she began describing the opening scene, I had to keep myself from shouting, "I KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!", lol. I haven't experienced the vibrating thing, but I have had quite a few physical jerks right before I sleep though. That's so interesting about my username! I picked it because I liked the sound of it & because I thought it was poetic in a way, LOL! I use it everywhere, but sometimes I replace "fire" with "fyre". Here are 2 pictures I have that show something that wasn't supposed to be there. One is a picture of a picture (the door picture) because I don't have a scanner. Don't want to influence your minds any further, so here we go. Click on the pictures to enlarge.

are these pictures you've taken? wow, they are cool. I have done some paranormal photography in the past 15 years or so. THe interest in the paranormal got me started down the path to spirituality. I was interested in ghosts and what they represent, then I was interested in communicating with them. I got some pretty awesome EVP's during this time. I was quite amazed. Then I found this unfullfilling, so to furthur my studies I found out about what you need to do to be able to see ghosts and have full conversations with them. That lead me to communication with spirit guides, which is a lot less freaky than talking with actual deceased people. To do this, ( I am still learning and have found a teacher), you have to be grounded, which is another whole topic, and you must learn to focus your mind through meditation. That was a lot for me to learn. You need to be totally sound of mind and body. Physical and mental hang-ups and old emtional wounds and misconceptions of self need to be dealt with and gone. That lead me to Buddism and Hindu practices, some I found very useful is awakening the kundalini and past life regression, yoga, etc. Letting go of ego is a very vital part to putting yourself aside to let in spirit. Very important! That's where I'm at now in my spritual progression as I call it. Just wanted to share this, and if anyone is on a similar path. Next I want to be able to see and hear my spririt guide(s) and channel messages for others. Then move on from there to whatever then next step will be. I feel very close to getting this soon, it seems it comes through in my dreams quite easily. My dreams have shown me very clearly who I should welcome into my tranformation and who I should not trust. If you are trying to capture ghosts on film, or digital camera or whatever, don't forget to treat them with respect and ask for their permission to be photographed. This is important and remember to surround yourself with the white light of the holy spirit so you are protected and don't take any unwelcome guested home with you. I learned this the hard way.

Hi Star Fire Song--I'm addressing your statement: I haven't experienced the vibrating thing, but I have had quite a few physical jerks right before I sleep though.
This is a sensation I have also--physical jerking before sleep or hypnagogic dreaming. During this state between falling asleep & actual sleep you will notice a series of rapid images or visual messages before your body jerks. Also you may experience audio hallucinations during this transition between wakefullness & sleep. Pay close attention to what you view/hear & apply the wisdom to your current circumstances. Hypnagogic episodes occur during periods of extreme fatigue or mental/emotional stress.

Just wanted to say I haven't heard that term 'hypnagogic dreaming' , thanks for putting a name to it for me. i aggree with you totally on this point GoddessV, I've felt it too. I even got messages from it from time to time. I believe it was my spirit guide, I was going through one of the roughest times of my life, and I heard, "pass over it", that was all, it was so simple but it said soooo much to me at the time.

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday & New Year! Goddess, I looked up the hypnagogic dreaming you mentioned & I was surprised to find that I have done it on quite a few occasions. I had no idea there was a term for it. Mainly when I'm in that state, I feel myself going down the stairs but I always trip...mostly because I make myself think I do, which is why I jerk just before I sleep. It's my physical reaction to falling down the stairs, haha. Geehutch, I'm currently looking into Buddhism & am also reading How to Expand Love by the Dalai Lama. I'm fascinated with the whole culture of it all & I find that most of the themes they have present in their beliefs are the ones I instinctively acted on all my life. It's very cool. I've been working a LOT more on my meditation lately as well. I'd been doing it off & on for about 3 years as an honest attempt, but I just found out that I've always meditated...I just didn't know I was doing it at the time. (I meditate while I walk, which is nearly every day.) A recent meditation I learned was to visualize myself in this brilliant white light, more bright than the whitest light I've ever seen. & that's what I connect to the Higher Power, God, Allah, whoever you believe in. I also sometimes add in a warm pink light, so that only the loving, positive thoughts will come through & the negative things people may say, do or think won't affect me in any way. & very occasionally, I add in an emerald green, for the times when I'm feeling run down, so my body can draw in & use the light wherever it needs to heal. A lot of things lately are falling into place spiritually for me. I've been delving into myself, seeing what I have inside me, & working on the aspects of myself that I didn't like or that I'd locked away. It's a painful path/journey, but there's no better way to improve on being your own best friend. Past life regression is something I'd love to do sometime soon. A lot of people tell me that I'm an old soul or that I'm very wise for someone so young. (I'm 23.) There's a woman in the state that came highly recommended, & I might be going to her. The only problem with that is she charges $80 an hour, which is a lot of money, hehe. But I did find a website where you can get a detailed reading for $55, but the only problem with that is the person only gives you the details on the information that actually comes through to her, which may just be 2 past lives or 10, & I'd really like to know all of mine. The people I've seen have all said that I've had 6 past lives, so... *shrug* Who knows? As for the pictures, I took the second one. There's a possibility that I took the first, but it's been so long ago now that no one remembers anymore. I didn't ask the spirits permission (which is an interesting philosophy, btw), because I never planned on taking pictures of them. The cat & the woman in the picture were the ones I'd intended to take. The "extra" was totally unplanned. I had quite a jolt when I saw them, actually.

Those pictures were great. Thanks for sharing them. And as to what you were saying"I'm fascinated with the whole culture of it all & I find that most of the themes they have present in their beliefs are the ones I instinctively acted on all my life." It's so funny isn't it how familiar things feel when we find real truth. One more thing, I've done past life regression for people for years and there's nothing to it. If I can I will help you out. And you won't possibly ever get to know all of them, for if you have an old soul and you probably do, then you have hundreds of past lives. I have many as well. All you have to do is get yourself into a meditative state and travel back in time in your head. Sometimes it works sometimes not, just try it and see. I do hypnosis for anyone who wants, but I am rusty, I haven't done it in a while, and I do it for free. This is a condensed version, just for an idea/starting point;
You can get a friend to say this to you as you go if you want, and be laying down completely relaxed and open, relax everything even your face(go through all the muscles of the body from your toes to the top of your head). Then you just imagine yourself at your age you are now, then at a younger and a younger stage, and at each age you must picture a memory or something that ties you to that age. Keep going until you reach infancy, then further back and keep remembering things. Then you're in the womb, then at conception, then darknesss.... Then you see a light and you move towards it...Then you see what you see, look down at your hands, your feet, take note of what you're waring, see if you can get a date, the landscape? Where are you? Who are you? Then you can go back to the light again, and see an earlier life, and so on and so forth. Have fun with it, write this out in a longer more detailed version and add whatever makes it more authentic to you. Then have a friend read it to you or tape yourself with pauses at the appropriate places, its really that easy. Oh and when you come back you must go foreward in time again to where you are now. It's all in you and your mind. There's probably CD's out there that can do a guided meditation on this too that would be just wonderful to experience. I'm really glad to hear you're working on yourself, and learning new things. Keep sharing, take care

Hi Goddess- I don't know if this really qualifies, but I sometimes see 'shadows' from the corner of my eye but when I really turn to look, there is nothing there. It doesn't happen quite often, but it does happen at least twice a year. Growing up I was not brought up to believe in superstition, but I must admit that regardless of this fact, something about superstition/supernatural always has intrigued me. I also have 'gut' feelings quite a bit. Sometimes I can tell who they are regarding and other times I can't, but the feeling is still there. However, there is one experience that I will never forget!
I was lying in my bed one morning and I was half asleep and half awake when suddenly I felt something/someone want to enter my body (not a good entity). I felt my body lifting up a bit from the bed but I couldn't move, the only thing that I could think of was to pray (mentally) and I kept on repeating the Lord's Prayer in my head over and over until it finally stopped and as my body hit the bed again, I fully woke up and I could move. I was so afraid, but I kept invoking God to help me calm down and to protect me and my family as well. Soon after that incident there was a period of time where bad thoughts would enter my head and one of them that bothered me the most was where something was telling me that God was dog (spelling it backwards) and it kept on repeating that in my head. This went on for a few months until I finally told myself that God was the all powerful one not anyone else and no one was going to change my mind. After that I have had no problems. I am almost positive that had I not had the faith I do in God, that I would have been easily possessed. There is another thing about this time period that has me a bit perplexed, but I think that they are somehow linked and that is that not too long after this, everything financially started to go down hill. Maybe it's a coincidence, maybe not, but I don't think that it is....at least I don't feel like it is.

In June of 2008 a friend was moving house and I was helping her clean. The house was empty and I left the room I was working in to get more paper towels. When I returned there was a dime on the floor right by where I was standing. I thought it was wierd but I picked it up and pocketed it and kept cleaning. I moved to the next room and again I had to leave to get something and when I came back there was another dime. I laughed and told my friend's husband that if he wanted to pay me for helping I would keep taking the dimes he kept rolling into the room when I wasn't there. He, of course, had no idea what I was talking about. I didn't know it then but that was the beginning of a very strange and slightly scary way of life. Now I find dimes everywhere, all the time. I researched it and of course found all the literature about them being bad omens so I have stopped picking them up. I usually just kick them across the room or pavement when I see them. Whoever or whatever is responsible for them is starting to get creative. I live in England and it is common to run across currency from all over the world. As I was cleaning the building where I worked I saw a watch battery laying on the floor. I picked it up because I didn't want it to get trapped in the vaccuum and when I brought up to my face to see what size it was I realized it was a dime from another country. And let me tell you, it wasn't a british coin or even a Euro coin. I have seen several different types of coins and I didn't recognize the country. Can you freakin believe it? I had been so careful about not picking them up and then there in my hand was a dime. It happened again with a british dime that was rusted a really pretty blue color. I saw that bluish green "stone" laying on the ground and picked it up only to discover it was a dime. My husband thought that I was going crazy until he started seeing the dimes too. We were at the laundromat recently loading a frontloader washing machine when out of nowhere a dime appeared on the floor where I was standing. He tried to laugh it off but when I walked to the other side of the laundromat there was another dime where I had been sitting previously. It doesn't scare him like it scares me but at least he doesn't think I am crazy anymore! My Aunt Barbara died in January 2006 from cancer. We were very close and because I live overseas we didn't get to spend much time together before she died. About a year after her death I was standing in a parking lot smoking a cigarette when a man walked up and started talking to me. In the course of our conversation he told me that someone I loved had died recently and he felt that person with me. He also said that I needed to drink more water because my stomach seemed to be blocked. I thought it was really strange but told him that I would definitely start drinking more water! What I didn't tell him was that my Aunt Barbara had died a year earlier of stomach cancer. I sincerely hope that it isn't her because in the last 18 years I have had 10 family members and three friends from my childhood die and none of them has ever come back to have a chat. I worry that if it is her then she is trapped somewhere and can't get to where she is supposed to be.

Ginari! Although I'm not a Christian or follow a particular religion, I do believe in the forces of good & evil. Unfortunately, many have been betrayed by evil by succumbing to greed & power, 2 of the most intense temptations to conquer in this life. Congratulations for tapping into your inner strength to fight evil by embracing your beliefs. Money is an important earthly concern, so that is why your finances diminished during that time period...to test your faith. Remain empowered by your supreme spirit Ginari! Thanks for sharing & keep your dreams alive! --Goddess V.

Like you BNRHUDSONS, I have also experienced coins from heaven. The following story I shared with another dreamer a few months ago:
I have pocketed coins continuously after each of my parents left this life.
BNRHUDSONS, I believe the coins are a positive sign that someone is trying to communicate a special message to us. When you find the dimes please check out the dates to see if they correspond to a birthdate, special event date, or date of passing of a deceased friend or relative. I truly believe the dead do speak in mysterious ways to connect with us after they have departed this existence. So don't think of your aunt as trapped, but rather "free" to contact you with coins of love concerning your health. What country was your aunt from?

Dreams are like our shadows (true selves). No matter how hard we try to run from them they will always be with us...even in darkness where the truth is veiled in mystery. --Goddess V.

Hi Goddess Though i have not experienced "Coins from Heven" I would like to metion that I hear voices in my head I have done for about almost a week now but i can only hear them in almost absolute quiet (This is rare because I live a noisy life) But when i hear those voices they sound like a 100 male and female voices not making any sense Every so often i get one voice that is stronger and clear to listen to even then what he or she said makes no sence my lastest one was babbleing on about things being complex or summit like that the voice was female and sounded like a person in their mid twenties
Anyway these voices are strange and kinda creeps me out Btw this is a very interesting subject
