Hi
Im hoping you can help me, I constantly have dreams (3-4 times a week for over a year) about Guinea Pigs! This is as bizare to me as to you. I use to keep pet Guinea Pigs as a child but have no hang ups or issues about it. There is no past history to draw me there. My dreams are about various things such as them in a cage and me letting them free in the garden (as I did as a child) Feeding them, making sure their cage is efficient, sometimes its about them just being there, or about someone else keeping them and in this case I am usually making sure they are kept well, or it could be they are just present. It is a mystery to me! I sometimes think its to do with taking care of them but why always Guinea Pigs? I have had many pets over the years and don't dream of them. Sometimes the dream is including rabbits (I did keep them both as a child and this is common) usually in the same context as the Guinea Pigs. I am confused and would like some help if you could?
Thanks
Hi Pink,
This one stumped me for a while. I actually looked up the dream meaning of pigs in two different dream dictionaries. One said that to dream of healthy pigs is a sign that you are reasonably successful in the things you are doing. Another said to watch out for stubbornness or overindulgence.
Rabbits signify a positive turn of events.
The fact that these particular pets were from your childhood could also mean that you wish to return to a time when you had less responsibilities and worries. Since you mention you have no past history or hang-ups to draw you to these guinea pigs you had in your childhood, perhaps it is your recent life's situations that are causing you stress and your subconscious/unconscious mind is wishing you could return to a simpler life.
Since the dream has been recurring for over a year, I would suggest taking a look at what has gone on in your life over that time. Some questions you might ask yourself: In waking life, do I feel I am lacking the attention of others in any way? Have I taken on significantly more responsibility over the year? And how do I feel in the dream?
Overall, my gut feeling is that this is not a bad dream. It is telling you that you are doing reasonably well, but there may be some causes of stress in your life, particularly over the past year, that you need to address. That is my opinion, and I hope this helps.
