I'm considering moving the forum to its own domain, ill keep the main site linking to the forum so it should still get traffic going to the forum via the main site. I think for SEO reasons it would be better and i think it could get better SERPs having its own domain, also it will be easier to move the forum now in its early days rather than letting it grow and then moving it then would be out of the question.

Your thoughts?

I think it's a good idea! Especially if it gives you more traffic.

I think its ok if the forum is still here, well, i don't know as much as you do. but from my point of view, other forums have hundreds of posts a day, i know that requires a lot of traffic. and i think we don't have that much posts here yet.

still it's your call... anywhere is fine. i'm just wondering, where do you get the money to maintain this site, and in the future domain?

At the moment the main site is getting 600-700 visitors a day, i am guessing about 10% of them come through to the forum, if we run the forum on a domain of its own we could get that amount of traffic to the forum each day rather than sharing it with the main site and the forum getting the least amount of traffic.

Costs involved are minimal, domains are cheap and i all ready have a dedicated server so there is no additional cost involved for hosting.

If i do go ahead with the move it will be early March when the forum moves.

If you haven't all ready noticed we have now moved, I think i have set up enough redirects from the old forum to the new one, so even if you have old pages bookmarked it should automatically redirect your here now.

Hopefully we will see more traffic coming this way over the next few months.

I like the way you 'separated' the forums. Cool! Hopefully, we'll have more traffic!
