Hello
I am new to this... in the past 18 months i have been having nightmares,i ve been taking an antidepressant dor postnatal depression this long, that is when they started but get worse and i dread going to sleep as it is terrifiying.
I have the same dreams over and over, everytime with more detail, last night i dreamt that the person who abused me as a child abused my 18mth daughter and teenager, and that we had to escape from him, it was very violent and everytime we thought we could escape he would stop us. I tried telling people but it still didnt help us escape, it was like he won every time? Can anybody suggest anything please?

When something traumatic happens to us as children, they replay themselves to us as adults when we are under stress, and extremely tired. Not only do they replay themselves, but they tend to expand to include those around us who we care for....making your children seem vulnerable to this type of attack.
If you never really had 'closure' from this terrible event, or the person who abused you was never punished or brought to justice for the act, you may still feel the effects of the abuse.
If possible, talk to your doctor about your prescription. You may need to talk with an abuse counselor.
I really feel for your situation. I was sexually abused as a child. I had closure and was able to move on. It helps to talk about it with a trained counselor, or specialist. What happened to you was not your fault. No child ever deserves to be abused.

Hugs & Hope,
J
