Hello! I am a 28-year-old female. At some point in my adolescence, I developed a recurring dream about stabbing. It is never the same aggressor. In fact, the aggressor is usually some sort of monster or something that isn't quite human. Last night it was a talking shark that was trying to get out of a swimming pool to eat me. I stabbed it in the eye with a pair of scissors, but it didn't care. It just went right on talking to me and trying to wriggle out of the pool to eat me. I kept stabbing it and stabbing it... nothing. Every aggressive "creature" that I have stabbed in my dream hasn't reacted to the stabbing, although I keep at it. In some rare cases, I cut the aggressor into pieces(there is never any blood, the pieces are clean like a chopped up potato).

Once I begin stabbing, I no longer feel afraid of the creature I am stabbing, but get very frustrated when I can't hurt them. I am not a violent person. Why do I keep having the same kind of dream?

usually, dreaming of stabbing someone, or something is a defensive mechanism of our mind that we are afraid of being betrayed. especially sharks, sharks signifies a greedy, unscrupulous person. it can be anybody, it can also be you. dreaming of stabbing, would also signify that there are some aspects in your personality that you feel you want to get rid off.

do you feel betrayed by someone, or a certain situation?
do you feel that you are unable to express yourself? or defend yourself? (in terms of words)
