Giving Birth

Last night I had a dream that I was giving birth which for some reason has really unsettled me, in my dream I was lying on a bed with a woman standing just behind my left shoulder holding my hand and a man standing about halfway down the bed on my right side, both were unidentfiable as the woman was out of my line of sight and the man was surrounded by shadow, the third person in my dream was my mother who appeared to be delivering the baby. Although the woman to my left was talking me through the birth and appeared to be a midwife or something similar she seemed to be someone I knew at the same time, since I have wakened I keep thinking that she was either one of my two previous partners (I am a gay woman) or my grandmother to whom I was very close. I was in quite a bit of pain with my contractions and anticipating the pain of having to push the baby out when this woman to my left told me to relax and as I did the pain went away and I gave birth to a normal, healthy baby extremely quickly which my mother then laid on her kitchen worktop to clean off! I woke up soon after this but have never remembered a dream so vividly in a very long time. Can anyone help me understand this dream?
