I am a 28 year old man, unmarried, no kids. I live with my girlfriend, age 36, and her 2 daughters. I dreamed that we were visiting my old neighborhood in another state. My giirlfriend was gone somewhere and I had the kids. First in the dream I was having a confrontation with a guy I know that almost led to a fight. Then the dream jumped to a train station, where I was talking to an old female friend. The kids were still with me and playing off to the side. The confrontational guy from the first part of my dream appeared and snatched my girlfriends 4 year old daughter and took off running. I had a couple beers and gave chase, but the alcohol was suddenly affecting me. My female friend started screaming and chasing the guy. I never caught him. Just chased him until I woke up.

It seems as though you're afraid of 'becoming' a father. That you are almost wanting to return to a simpler time (your old neighborhood). You subconsciously fear that you won't be able to protect and provide like you feel you should.

Whether the kids are yours biologically, or not...it's hard being a parent. Kid's don't come with instruction manuals. Their wants and needs run almost as wild as their noses...and they have a 4 minute attention span. But they also give unconditional love. They have the cutest way of seeing the humor in things, and they're honest about they're feelings.
Relax, no-one is a 'perfect' parent. You learn as you go, and when you get stuck ...let commen sense prevail.

Hope this helps a little. Good Luck!
