Life beyond 3 dimensions...

Hi everyone,
Here's something that I hope will stimulate a little bit of interesting discussion.  Do you ever have dreams in which you see textures and fabrics really clearly, almost as if you were really seeing things in real life?  I have had several dreams in the course of the past year in which I was trying on clothes, and I could virtually feel and see the various textures of the respective articles of clothing, in addition to the colors.  I'm not really sure if these kinds of things could be interpreted or not.  What do you think?  What are your experiences?

One thing I'm thinking about:  recently I stumbled across the blog of a local artist in my town who is a textile artist.  I had never heard of a textile artist, so it fascinated me.  She weaves her own fabrics into works of art.  I was looking at her creations, and some of them really moved me, the way only Art can do.  I wonder if dreams incorporate textures and feelings as a way of reaching to that place in our souls, that unspeakable place, that is moved by Art?  Does that make any sense?

I've dreamt about walking bare foot and I can feel the earth under my feet with each step, and I can see thngs in my dreams that I can feel without touching. But I can't say I've had a special feeling towards textures and fabrics in my dreams, but maybe you do because it's calling you to a special talent you have for that sort of thing.
Good art is the kind that speaks to your soul on a deep level, it is really something to see something that gets your attention. I would explore it further if I was you and see where it takes you. You must have an artistic streak in you.

I sometimes dream of pains and literally feel them, I'm not sure about textiles.  I can feel temperatures!  If I'm standing in water I know whether it's hot, cold or in between.

I wonder if when we dream of something particular, if it could be our minds trying to point something out - colours, patterns, texture and depth, a point in direction.

My sister very recently dreamt of choosing china cups in a shop, the china was her favourite "Minton Blue" and she has a huge collection in her kitchen.  Have you any idea what this could refer to, I haven't been able to work it out for her yet!?

Hi there

Interesting question and something i've wondered myself Smiley Ive had similar experiences with textiles/clothing carpets wallpaper etc. My understanding is that when there is an incresed sense of awareness within a dream the 'material' component of the dream itsself is penetrated, its almost like being on the threshhold of becoming lucid. Our dreams have substance, though the substance differs from that of our physical plane. During sleep our consciousness in varying degrees awakens and operates on the astral plane. This astral substance has a different quality, feel, texture to what we are used too on the physical level.

However when our awareness increases about any ONE thing that we are dreaming about then its almost as if we are penetrating that particular aspect of our consciousness. Maybe by becoming aware of the 'substance' that your garments/clothing is made up of in the dream is another way of imparting the idea that you are understanding the deeper levels/layers of for example your persona or attitude 'clothing' what it is composed of or made up from, Its fabric if you like.

In my view as well art work can be a beautiful stimulus for accessing depths of emotion. Artwork and colour particularly, resonate with different levels of consciousness. Art can not only inspire us and move us in ways which are profound but can evoke various emotions and feelings within that may have been locked up. This way of gently opening the heart can be stimulated in our dreams (a healing dream) often through symbols and divinely inspired colours etc which can if you like be looked at as a direct manifestation of the higher feminine/masculine energy - Love, compassion and Wisdom.

Just  some more food for thought  Smiley
