Hi, I'm 37 years of age, and I have been having not necessarily the same dream for months now, but certainly the same theme.

Basically, my family (and sometimes others) have been on holiday somewhere, usually different places, and it comes to the time when we need to get packed to go home.  The latest dream I had was last night and we were all packing up and getting ready to go, and there was so much stuff that we weren't getting anywhere.  In the end I had to ask to stay another night because we couldn't get packed in time.  The next day was the same - packing endlessly and couldn't get ourselves sorted out.  By the time we did get away it was nearly night time, and we had a long drive ahead.  All of my other dreams have been like this, and what usually follows is an absolute inability to just get straight home.  Things happen along the way, we break down, we get lost, one of the kids is ill, whatever.  The whole dream has a feeling of frustration that I just can't get home!

It's really weird that I keep having this theme.  I am going abroad in August for the first time in my life, but I don't feel particularly anxious about this, so I don't think it's anything to do with that.  Has anyone got any ideas - I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts!

Thanks,

Karen

Overall, I would say that your dream is connected to your trip in some way.

One possibility is, that you feel you have a bit of clutter in your life and are probably thinking it's about time you tidy it up in preparation for the trip.
Another is, unless you are moving overseas, you could be thinking that you should only take what you absolutely need to have, because if you don't..you'll probably wind up getting more stuff while there and have a hard time getting it all back home.
And lastly, it could be anxiety about the trip itself (worrying about possible delays, missed connections, lost luggage, etc.).

Before I take a trip anywhere, I plan out how many suitcases I actually want to haul around, or keep track of. Then, I make a list of all the things I know I'll need...toiletries, cosmetics, medication, and proper shoes, (which I plan to go in my 'carry on' bag).
Then I add to it from there, starting with the most important things. Whatever there's no room for, I cross it off the list. When you're done, you re-write the list, showing only the things you did pack.
Then, I put the list with my ticket. That way, I have it to re-pack my things for coming home.

Hope that helps some, good luck!!
