did you know that the word...

"TYPEWRITER" is the longest word that is typed on the top layer of the keyboard?

"STEWARDESS" is the longest word that is typed using your left hand? (if you're a touch-typist)

"LOLLIPOP" is the longest word that is typed using your right hand? (if you're a touch-typist)

i bet you'll try it...  Cheesy

I knew that! I read that in a book I checked out at the library when I tried to teach myself to type.
 I still can't type. Sad

i can say i'm a fairly good typist, about 75 wpm. touch typing can speed up typing dramatically. when i started typing with two fingers, 20 wpm is the most i can get. constant practice and discipline in proper finger placement can help you achieve touch typing. eventually i learned to touch type when i was in college, where i have to make a 200 page technical report, in one subject. i have 3 subjects that time.

i think with all your posting in this forum, you'll eventually learn how to touch type.  Cool proper finger placement, discipline, and patience is the key.

i know someone who can type as fast as 130 wpm! some jobs here require fast encoders with a minimum speed of 120 wpm - its a good paying job.

LOL... I can play the C concert flute. Have been playing it since I was 9 yrs old. But! When playing the flute, you cannot see your fingers or the keys...like you can with a trumpet, piano, or any other instrument. So I had to learn without looking. I took piano lessons for 3 years but could not keep from looking at the keys...or my hands. Silly I know, but I just can't type without looking! But to be fair...when playing the flute, there's only 1 finger for each assigned key. When typing, or playing the piano, there's to many alternate 'fingerings'. LOL
I'm resigned to hunting & pecking. *sigh*

Well, that figures, i started touch typing, after my 2 years of piano lessons. I'm just a grade-2 on piano, but i can play fairly well. I also play guitar. In guitars, you don't really have to look at the fret board or the strings, just sensing it will do. I can play flute too, yup, there's only one finger for every key, but not exactly for clarinets and saxophones, there are tons of keys, unlike piano where you can anticipate the note. i love music a lot, mostly new age, where there are instrumentals.

I love all types of music. A little rap, is ok, I'm really fond of classical (Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, Pachelbel, etc...), I have tons of New Age, Native American, an Wiccan...But my first love is good ol' rock n' Roll.
