I am new to this forum and would like some help. Just a warning, my dream is a little on the scary side.

Last night I had a dream that I was looking at myself in the mirror and I took a scalpal and starting to precisely cut my skin away from my face. I started on the outside of my ear and went all around the outside of my face to my other ear. Then I made one slice back through my scalp. I started to slowly peel the skin away exposing just the muscle. Once I started pulling it off of my chin I got scared and changed my mind and didn't want to take the skin off anymore. When I looked under my chin in the mirror I saw the cut but it looked like it was starting to scar allready and at the end was a scar of the number 9. There was noboy else in my dream and nothing really happened after that.

I do tend to dream in vivid detail everynight. In fact I started keeping a journal on it but it took up so much of my time in the morning I stopped journaling.

If anyone could give me some insight I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Dee

Hello there, it's nice to meet you!  I don't get to visit these forums as often as I like and I'm pretty out of practice when it come to interpreting!  That's why I'm going to throw a few ideas around and see if it helps you in anyway.  I'm sure somebody with more experience will help you out better than myself!

So, first of all I ask myself whether this dream represents either a personal reflection or that of somebody very close to you.  Maybe your mother, sister or daughter (I'm presuming you're female, sorry if this is not the case)!  If that doesn't sound right then I'd stick with the image of yourself.

You begin to cut the skin from your face.  Your face represents 'you', it's how people recognise you and how you recognise yourself, it's your first point of contact and in a way it is your 'mask'.  Your mask represents everything you have to offer from the inside, whether you choose to present or hide these expressions is entirely up to you.

The question I find myself asking is - What are you looking for?

Are you possibly searching for some kind of inner strength?  Could this be why your dreaming mind has exposed the muscles of your face.  If so, you can be almost sure you have everything it takes to confront a certain situation or person which may have been troubling your life for some time.

Here's an interpretation of the number 9:
Nine denotes completion and that you are on a productive path. Rebirth, inspiration and reformation. You are seeking to improve the world.

Rebirth and reformation, now that's interesting!  What's even more so, is that the number nine is presented as a scar on your chin.
Apparently the chin is a good omen but can also represent startling news.  I wonder then, if the scar represents something from your past that you are finally using the strength to heal with all the qualities found under the surface of your skin.  In the very muscle of your being.

I 'think' you are on the right path, but only you can decide what these symbols mean to you personally.
I hope I've helped a little and not confused matters even further!  All the very best,

Hello Blueize,

I like your username,  Cheesy

interesting dream, the skin layer on our body acts as a shield to protect us from the outside world, it is our first line of defence. its the same as the face, the first thing people notice about us.

perhaps the dream is telling you that you are letting down your defences, trying to find (or prove to others and yourself) your strength, who you really are under the mask. however you stop, you are unsure of what you are doing and think it has gone too far.

a scar may represent deep-seeded insecurities which may be holding you back from accomplishing your goals. this dream could be telling you that you are too concerned with what others think and continuously try to prove yourself to others "exposing your strength" however you tend to be haunted by memories of the past frequently.

Thanks for the advice.  In fact Kid - you hit the nail on the head. I am always worried about what people think about me and I am such a people pleaser that I forget about myself.  It makes more sense now.  Thanks again.
