Hey, i'm new to these forums.
i'm wondering, is it weird if I can sometimes control what happens in my dreams? Its almost like I'm directing a movie or writing a book. If i dont like the way something goes or i want something to happen differently its like i can rewind and do it over and change it. I know i'm not explaining very well but if you understand what i'm talking about then just let me know what you think.

You made sense. That happens to me sometimes too. But usually I find that I can only control my dreams when I'm not in a deep sleep. To me, when I wake up from a dream it feels like rushing towards the surface of a deep pool in which I'm submerged. The closer I get to the top the more lucid my dreams are, but it's not ALWAYS like that, only in certain dreams. it's weird!

I have just started experimenting with this to try and communicate with my unconscious mind to resolve a chronic pain issue I have been dealing with for several years.
Is there a certain point you realize that you are dreaming and then you can take control? How long have you been able to do it? Did you wake up at first when you realized you were dreaming? Do you take any chemichals that alter the mind?
Boy, if you read up on the mind and how its compartmentalized and try communicating with different parts of your brain I would love to see some results posted. I recomend starting with "the divided mind" by Dr John Sarno. It really outlines and explains the duallity of the brain, the conscious/unconscious the ID EGO superEGO. The left over child that exist in all of us and is angry about pleasing others and pressure to do good. Its a good read.
We only use like 25% of our brain. If you can communicate with your brain through dreams and make yourself smarter by using dormant parts of the brain, that would be cool.

actually a lot of the times i dont think that i do realize i'm dreaming, everything seems real but slightly different than what would happen in real life at the same time, i dont really even think about the fact that i'm in a dream until after i wake up. occasionally when i wake up i can still remember the last few minutes of the dream and if i do it quickly i can kind of drift back into the dream. as far as i can remember i've always been able to do it. no i dont take any drugs or chemicals

Here's another weird thing: Sometimes when I just wake up, and I'm conscious, but still lying in bed, if I remember my dream, I can go back and change whatever I didn't like. I wish I could do that with some movies!

I havent been able to realize or control my dreams since I was switched from morphine to fentanyl. I think some people just have a nack for interacting with dreams and some of us can interact better with dreams when its chemically induced.

I get this sometimes, too. Sometimes I don't have complete control, but for some reason I make decisions, like to go here, and my dream does just that. It's different to my normal dreams, where I don't feel like I'm thinking, and things just go along without my control. It's a bit weird, and a bit cool at the same time!
