I had a dream last night. None of my dreams in the past have ever been normal but this one was weird even for one of my dreams.

There is an island of jagged beige-colored rock. It is bare except for an enormous castle or palace built in the Turkish style, covering almost the entire island. The building is so large it seems to have been built for giants rather than for regular men. In my dream I am the master of this castle, a prince. I have a dark-skinned bodyguard dressed in Roman armor who follows me around. The island is surrounded by a vast calm ocean, stretching in all directions, until its blue melds with the blue of the sky. But below the calm surface of the surrounding sea lurk immense whales. I don?t know how I knew this in the dream but I do. These whales are not normal whales but more like the Leviathans of mythology, more the size of nuclear submarines than of natural beasts. Sleek and black, they look like monstrous sperm whales but with enormous gleaming teeth. Suddenly, they began to leap from the water, attacking the castle. For some reason the massive front doors to the castle are open. The doors are easily 50 metres high (everything in my dream is huge). The whales leap through the doors but slam into the nearest wall behind the doors and tumble back into the sea. I think I?m safe. My bodyguard then notices movement above us. With a terrified expression he turns to me and draws his blade. I look up at a tangled mass of gigantic wooden beams. Every now and then dark shadows blot out the spaces formed by the intersecting beams. The whales are flying above us, circling like sharks. I wake up.

Island - could represent a need for peaceful solitude, or the feeling of being isolated, and separated from others. Being that it is surrounded by water (which represents emotion), it could suggests that you feel surrounded by too much emotion or 'drama'.

Castle - may be symbolic of the "cavern of the heart." It represents the home of the human spirit (yours) and the natural self. Dreams with castles in them may come from deeper levels of the subconscious. They may represent spiritual transcendence and the mysterious and intangible force that seems to quietly, but firmly, direct our lives. A castle in a dream may also represent feelings of security, protection, isolation or remoteness. You may have a castle dream when you have realized a desire or accomplished a goal. Darkened castles may be symbolic of unconscious or unfocused desires, at times, black castles represent our failures and white, or lighted castles, symbolize achievement and awareness.

Alternatively, being that a castle is a fortified building, it may suggests that you have fortified your emotions to prevent them from becoming conscious. It may mean you need or seek protection from something in your life.

Being that everything is huge, it could suggests that you are feeling overwhelmed by something.

Beige /Tan - a lighter version of brown. ...therefore would suggest similar aspects and feelings of brown, but not as 'intense'.
Brown - an earthly color and may, therefore, symbolize the instinctive or the sensuous. Also an autumnal color and as such may signify a (feeling of ) decline; low spirits or depression.

Blue has always something to do with intellectual and spiritual events, insights, experiences, and mental processes.  Blue is a symbol of emotional contentment that we all would like to attain. It indicates that you want to live wisely and with compassion. Blue stands for intellectual goals, insight, faith, spiritual maturity, enlightenment, relief from worry, and assistance from outside sources.

Dark blue - depression, negative thoughts, and aggression.
Light blue - the sense of intuition, having a wide awareness of life, religious feelings, and the 'coolness' of nature.
Soft gentle blue - a typically feminine color, representing the nurturing and emotional expression.
Blue may sometimes symbolize the universal or collective unconscious (as distinct from the individual unconscious). Perhaps the dream is asking you to base your life on intuitions that come from a deep source within your psyche.
Alternatively, blue may represent the power of the conscious mind, particularly if it is the blue of the sky.
The blue sea may symbolize the unconscious or the feminine (anima, mother, or Great Mother, the wise self).
At an advanced level of mystical awareness, blue may represent the primal energy from which the universal life-force comes.

Bodyguard - suggests that you may be feeling the need to be protected from something, or from the negativity from others.

Whales - A whale may symbolize your mother, or femininity in general.
For most people, dreaming about whales is a pleasant experience. These huge water dwelling mammals may be symbolic of the connection that exists between the subconscious and conscious mind. They may represent your level of awareness, perceptiveness, and intuition. Some think that they represent our emotional power or are messengers from the spiritual realms. If the whale(s) in your dream was unpredictable or on the attack, consider the emotional environment in your every day life. Under such unpleasant dream circumstances, these large animals may represent overwhelming emotional or psychological issue and problem.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Is there someone (possibly a mother figure) that is becoming a bit overbearing?
Have you been feeling the need for 'protection'...or adversely, feeling overprotected?
Is there an issue you are dealing with that is overwhelming you, financially, emotionally, physically, etc.?
Have you been feeling isolated lately?
Hope this gives you some insight, best of luck!
