Could anyone help me interpret symbols in my dream.
Last night i had a long dream made of two parts; most of it I can't remember now. In the first parts I see my two parrots flying about in the kitchen with an open top window (one of the parrots, the one i loved the most has recently died). They both fly close to the open window and I am making them get away, finally the male parrot (the one who dies) flies out into a completely dark outside, explores it but then comes back.

In the second dream all i can remember is sailing a boat that a man I don't know made for me. I fall asleep in my dream and when I wake up the sailing situation is unstable...i end up in a place where there a 'walls' so i need to turn the boat round in order not to be in  dead end and to go back...i struggle to do it, since the boat feels unreal in a dream and just before this is accomplished the water drains and the next thing I see is the man who I do not know but who had something to do with the boat carries a heavy mattress like thing (which apparently an essential part of the boat). I had a feeling that I had to or could have carried all the parts of the boat myself. At that time the boat is destroyed, presumably having been affected by the drainage. I return to the empty drained away cupboard like room to pick up the wooden carcass of the boat and some other pieces with the whole thing looking nothing more than a toy.

Parrots - repeating without judgement what others have said, accepting or copying something without evaluating it. Could be your subconscious warning you to not repeat gossip, or believe something you've heard.

Kitchen - creativity, nourishing oneself(not just food, but the enrichment of your daily life through emotional and spiritual experiences), the mother role. A woman's dream with a kitchen, may refer to pride in the ability to create a home and contribute something valuable to the family.

Open window - Windows in our houses allow us to see the world on the out side, the windows in our dreams may encourage us to better see the world within ourselves, as well as the world outside. That your window was open, suggests that you are opening your eyes to a current situation in your waking life.

Dark outside - Things you are unaware of, and that are not defined by the intellect or the conscious self. Also: depression, confusion, secrets we hide from others or ourselves, or things we don't want to know about ourselves.

____________________________________________________________

Boat - The boat is a symbol of a part of your personality which you need in order to move ahead in the ocean of life. The boat in your dream could represent you and the manner you navigate through your emotions. It could symbolize the voyage of your life, an adventure and exploration of your unconscious, or a connection to the people in your dream by pointing out something that all of you have in common ("in the same boat").
Superstition-based dream interpretations say that if the voyage is calm, you should go forward with your plans. However, if it is a very stormy voyage, get ready for an emotional upset (or challenge).

unknown man - represents an unknown, masculine side of 'the self'. Traits and characteristics of that male would be traits in yourself that you are unaware of, or are just beginning to see, or recognize.

Unstable sailing conditions - Water represents your subconscious, your emotions, moods, your accumulated life experiences, and the flow of 'feeling' energy. That the water gave you bad sailing conditions , suggests that you feel you are on 'shaky ground' or in a bit of a rough patch, in your waking life.

Walls - codes of behavior, belief systems, attitudes(conscious or subconscious) you live within or are 'protected' by, the boundaries of behavior or thoughts you keep within, are fearful of extending beyond, or are 'trapped' by..(which would represent barriers or restrictions).
Also your feelings of confidence that protect against anxiety or social 'knocks', fears that keep you limited in your activities, feelings or attitudes you keep people away with, ...the walls we put up between us to maintain privacy or to keep from being hurt, to maintain a role or status.
That you felt it would be a 'dead end', suggests you feel as though these walls are obstacles you have in your waking life...that your efforts are leading nowhere.

Struggle to turn boat around - suggests you are struggling emotionally with a change of heart or mind.

Water drains away - Water represents your subconscious, your emotions, moods, your accumulated life experiences, and the flow of 'feeling' energy. That it was draining away suggests you feel emotionally drained

Mattress - similar to bed....the situation, comfortable or not, one has created in life. Such as "You made your bed and now you must lie on it."

Boat is destroyed - suggests you feel incapable of dealing with an issue or situation within your waking life. Possibly feeling that your life is a 'wreck', or that you feel 'stranded' in a situaation, or relationship.

Boat is like a toy - suggests that you feel ineffectual, that you are like a toy...going through the motions, but are not having any 'real' effect.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you been feeling depressed, or moody, or just emotionally drained, about a situation?
Do you feel as though you are just someone's 'plaything', or that you are not taken seriously?
Do you feel as though your efforts in life (work, home etc) are for nothing?...as though you've hit a dead end?
Are you blaming yourself for something that didn't go right, or for someone else's actions?
Have you heard something and you're wondering if it's true, or are confused by it?
Are you changing your mind about someone, or something?
Do you feel your life is too chaotic, or stormy, at the present?
Are you feeling trapped....physically or emotionally?
Hope this gives you something to go on....good luck!
