I keep dreaming about seeing a big wave. Most times I am able to get somewhere the wave cant get me, like a big hill. I am always in a panic but no one else around me is. My last dream involved being in a car driven by my mum and my kids in the back. and again I was in a panic and no one else was. The wave we were watching didnt hit the car but one that came from a different direction. It just hit the car and made it stop. I was trying to use my phone to text my dad to tell him I loved him (dad doenst even have a mobile!! lol ) Then everything just went white...........Hummmm someone please tell me what my wave dreams mean...I keep having them over and over!!!!

this dream is really interesting! although it seems concise, there's a LOT of great imagery to work with... here's what i think:

how long ago was it that this dream started? maybe knowing when it started or even when this dream appears (how often?; is it connected to life events?) can help us pinpoint exactly what's causing this dream. also, could you give us a little bit more of a context for this?

tsunami dreams are actually pretty common, if not rooted primordially in all of us (i have variations of this dream ALL the time, lol). if pools of water (lakes, oceans, etc) generally represent our emotional state, then tsunamis represent our being overwhelmed, or overpowered by our emotions. the image of sadness or stress coming at you like a tidal wave makes some intuitive sense.

it seems to me that you are constantly afraid of becoming overwhelmed in your daily life. i don't really have enough info to go on this, so forgive me if i'm wrong: but i would predict that you generally have this dream in periods of emotional stress. are you the kind of person that likes to stay in control of your emotions? i know i am, so i often dream of tidal waves when i am undergoing a situation in real life that would cause emotional stress. although in waking life i probably handle things well, my subconscious is acting out my fear of becoming overwhelmed by my feelings about any sort of situation.

let's talk specifically about this last dream you just had. cars in dreams are generally about journeys (also makes sense, we use them to get places in waking life, after all). it seems that in this dream, your family is going on a journey together. if your kids are a at a critical stage in their growth, it would make sense to have this dream, since the journey would then imply their growing through this. however, because your mother is driving, it seems to me that she's the one that's going through/will be going through some new adventure, and you and your kids are there to support her along the way, but i could be wrong about this. since you are the one that sees and fears the tidal waves, i would assume that these waves represent YOUR emotions (rather than emotions in general). you also get hit by a different wave than the one you are watching out for, which implies that you are/will be surprised by your emotional reaction to something. the thing to watch point out here is that your subconscious seems to be saying that your emotions, if they overwhelm and surprise you, will actually stop you guys from completing this journey, which would not be ideal. i think this is, once again, just a manifestation of your fears, ie. you are afraid that your emotions will overwhelm you and etc. but it could also be a a friendly reminder from your subconscious -- if you don't try to deal with your emotions head on, they could creep in on you and surprise you.

take the time to think about and acknowledge how events in your life are making you feel. don't ignore your emotions. also, your dad may be a source of comfort/guidance in this, since you reached out to him in your dream.

as for the white at the end...i don't know much about white, since i rarely dream about that color. but here's what i found in a dream dictionary online:

"White: White represents purity, perfection, peace, innocence, dignity, cleanliness, awareness, and new beginnings. You may be experiencing a reawakening or have a fresh outlook on life. However, in Eastern cultures, white is associated with death and mourning. "

that said, i think the white (which is the last image in your dream) is sortof meant to reinforce the positivity of this dream. ie. although you find the dream scary, it's actually a message sent with the best of intentions, and also a herald for change and new beginnings.

this was a bit wordy...hope it helps!

If a little dreaming is dangerous, the cure for it is not to dream less but to dream more, to dream all the time.

oh, afterthought...

i think if you take the time to acknowledge and experience your emotions in waking life, the recurring-ness of the dream will go away, or at least diminish.
