I consistently dream about being chased.  It is a theme that has run through my dreams for years now and I'm am literally exhausted.  I would love to hear whatever anyone has to tell me about this dream and about what it means to constantly be chased through my dreams each night.  Sometimes I wake up feeling sore and muscle fatigued as if I've truly been running and crouching and rolling around all night.

Here is my latest chase dream (while napping today).  Not sure it matters but I am a female in my mid/late 30's.

I am in a field of weeds about waist high and they are made of paper, super white construction paper.  Everything in the dream is made of this stark white paper, except the the people.  The weeds are kind of in rows like corn stalks, but not as tall.  Two guys are chasing me, almost more like they are blocking my way and trying to capture me at the same time, since in the dream I am facing them and am afraid to turn my back on them.  The men are probably in their late 20s and the one I remember most has longer wavy hair, kind of blondish-brown, the other guy is Indian, like from India, shorter hair and glasses, but he is more of a background player, cutting off any escape routes.  The wavy haired guy is the more aggressive one who is really trying to capture me.

As I try to get away from them, I dodge from row to row in the weeds and crouch down, sometimes crawling to get away without being seen.  At points I am looking down the row and always one of the men will step into the row, see me and start to come after me, at which point I move to another row.

Soon I come to a row of couches hanging from long curtain like vines extending down from the sky.  Everything is made of stark white paper.  The weeds come up to the bottoms of the couches and the vines form a curtain above the couches.  I duck behind the couches and am blocked from view.  I run behind trying to get away, but I can see a ripple in the curtain above the couch backs and hear the heavy breathing (from running) coming from one of the men (the blondish guy, I'm pretty sure).  I crawl under the couches to hide and hear the breathing from the one guy getting closer.  Just as the breathing gets to where I am, I am sure he will look under and see me, and I wake up.

I would love to hear whatever anyone has to tell me about this dream and about what it means to constantly be chased through my dreams each night.  Sometimes I wake up feeling sore and muscle fatigued as if I've truly been running and crouching and rolling around all night.

Being chased is a primal fear, which turns it into a common dream symbol. You're probably feeling exausted from the 'reality' the dream causes you to feel. Muscles are contracting, and causing a fitful sleep.

Chased - suggests that you are 'running away' from, or avoiding, something. Something you feel is important.

Unknown men (chasers) - could represent your masculine side, or someone you may, or may not know personally, who you feel is 'aggressive' towards you.

White - symbolizes awareness, responsibility, clearness of mind, purity, cleanliness, and light feelings.

Paper - Could symbolize unexpressed sentiments, ideas, emotions, or feeling a lack of communication. Also, opportunity, fragility, weakness, important documents, sameness.
Idioms: "Commit it to paper"..."Not worth the paper it's written on"..."Paper Tiger"..."Put pen to paper"..."Paper over the cracks".

Weeds - symbolize things you have developed in your life that are not contributing much...or might even be stopping more positive, personal growth. Also a symbol of misplaced, wasted, or misguided energy.

Couch/Chair - symbolizes passivity, relaxed attitude, inactivity, receptiveness, openess, escapism, rest, and waiting.

Are you avoiding something?...an important responsibilty, or something that needs your attention?
Do you feel overwhelmed by something at work, or home?...Bills, taxes, paperwork of some sort?
Have you had a 'wait and see' attitude about something, but now feel 'pressed' or pushed into action?
Did you sign a contract, or agreement, and now it's time to stand up to your end of the deal?
Was there and 'assignment', or something, you were supposed to be doing, and you put it off for too long, and now it's due?
Are you facing situation, or offered a great opportunity, but are 'afraid' to act on it?

Hope this helps a bit. Good Luck.

Life is not a destination....it's a journey. Enjoy the ride.
