Okay... I was about... 14 or 15 when I had this dream...
It was sometime in August, before school started. The dream lasted maybe a week or so. Every night I would dream, and it was like a movie, and the times I was awake were only commercials.
Background that is a need to know for the dream: My family is native american, and we practice the native ways. We hold ceremonies, and all that. The main ceremony is what we call "Sweat Lodge" or "Inipi" in this ceremony men (in shorts, no shirts) and women (dresses/skirts) enter this building. It has no windows, and there is a stove in the center, where a fire is burning. There is only one door, and everyone sits in a circle around the stove. The door is in the east. Women sit on the north side, men to the south. After Lodge, we return to the "Long house" which is just a building where we eat. Like a dining hall, or mess hall I guess you could say.... These buildings are in no way connected to the main house.
Dream (from the first night until it stopped):
I am a small child, living in my home. There is a visiting tribe staying on our land. My grandfather (Elder and "chief" of our home) is very ill, and dying from the sickness. The tribe is praying, and taking care of him. I'm outside the long house, playing with the other children. I get curious, and decide to peek into one of the windows into the long house. I see my grandfather on a cot, covered in furs, and the tribe is surrounding him, the medicine man near his head.
Suddenly, the medicine man looks up, directly at me, and points at me. There is an evil look in his eyes. Now the whole tribe is looking at me evilly. I race away from the window, and into the lodge, shutting the cloth door behind me. I stay hidden here for four nights (dream "nights"). Outside, the tribe is holding ceremony. A hunting ceremony. As if to ask the Spirits to bring good luck to their young hunters.
On the fourth morning, I peer out of the lodge. Everyone is asleep. I make my escape. I keep to the bushes, and trees that surround my home, only going into open ground when I go into my home. I silently creep through the hall, and listen as the medicine man is talking to my great aunt. He tells her that it is my fault my grandfather is dying of illness, and to bring him health, I must be killed.
I sneak back out of my house, and now the tribe is awake. They see me leave my home, and disappear into the bushes. They make chase after me, but I manage to avoid being captured. Each night, I find a new place to hide from them. And every morning, the chase continues. (dream days and mornings)
One evening, I stop behind a slide to catch my breath, and the child who owns the slide is still outside playing. I lift my finger to my lips as if to tell the child to keep quite about my location. The child nods, and goes back to playing, looking up when it hears the hunting calls of the tribesmen that are after me. I get scared when I see an arrow come flying out of the trees, and I race to protect the other child.
>>>>>> That was when I woke up, and the dreams stopped occurring. Later in the school year, I found out that my grandfather, in real life, had hepatitis B, and had originally come to where we live, moving from Cali, to get his things in order before his death. Yet, I had also been told that when he had returned to the doctor sometime before, his hepatitis was completely gone. As if he had never been ill with it.
I'm wondering if anyone could interpret that for me... It's always confused me as to why I had a dream like that.
